Well the time has almost come for DragonBall Z's return and Akira Toriyama's return to the franchise in the shape of a new movie DragonBall Z Battle Of Gods which will be released in Japanese Cinima's in 9 days time, here is the movie poster:
The movie takes place after the Majin Buu Saga just before the World Tornament Saga, when Bills the God of destruction learns about Goku and his extreme power and goes looking to fight him.
It also looks like Akira Toriyama will be removing DragonBall GT from cannon as in this movie he is giving Goku a whole new form instead of his Super Saiyan 4 form in GT, this new form is Super Saiyan God:
