I was playing my Wii U no longer than 2 hours ago and everything worked fine. I went off it to get some stuff ready and when I turned my console back on it said that the online features were not available and got the error code 102-2931.

 

Are the servers down or something? Will this resolve itself in time?

 

I only got this console 2 days ago and do not fancy sending it off for repairs

 

Any help is appreciated

It's down for everyone. If you go to their website, you can see that the server for the Wii U is down.

EDIT: It's fixed now. Everything will be ok.

It's still down for me. I thought it was an issue with my internet connection because it was going on and off a few days ago.

It's working fine for me, as long as it's an issue with Nintendo servers and not my Wii U, that's all that matters.

It really sucks that the servers are down cause I bought nes remix and now I have to wait to download it.

Now i get the door code 102-2931 and 111-9000 but nnid is back up for me so i guess thats good

I was able to log in to the eshop for long enough to download nes remix, but it errored before I could do anything else.

I guess Nintendo's servers weren't ready to handle the immense amount of traffic. That's a good thing, I guess. Means more people are getting the Wii U/3DS.

It's working fine for me today, I have played AC IV online and NFS Most Wanted U.

The eShop is online now, but the servers are still iffy according to the Nintendo Network Status website.

 

Online play, Miiverse, Nintendo TVii and Wii U Chat  are at full force though.

So the people who got a WiiU/3DS/2DS for xmas won't be able to use them, nice one Nintendo, looks like the last straw to me.

 

One thing getting a 3DS & WiiU has taught me is never to buy another console at launch every again, your loss Nintendo, your loss

To be fair, I can't even log in to PSN on my PS4 right now, and Xbox owners are reporting similar issues.
