I'm getting Castlevania today, played the demo yesterday and could not put it down at all. Really fun game.

I'm not into Castlevania, but I do have Luigi's Mansion. I seriously enjoy that game. It has so much charm, I can't imagine why you wouldn't love Luigi and E Gadd in the same game. The game play is pretty good, I like the puzzle elements. The solutions aren't always obvious as to what to do and requires some thinking. The graphics look great too. This is a must have for 3DS owners. The only thing I can say about Castlevania is some of the mediocre ratings I've seen. But if you really want that game, then go for it anyway.

Regardless of the ratings, the game is super fun to play. I think Super Metroid would get crap ratings in today's gaming industry because it didn't have a 50M dollar budget and an overly machismo script written by a hollywood type. It was fun as hell though.
I plan on getting LMDM soon as well.

I know. I was just putting that out there in case he wanted to read some reviews. I said at the end "if you really want it, go for it anyway". Well if Super Metroid was released during this day and age, then yeah it would. Games have evolved dramatically to the point where there are standards now. But that's not the point of this thread. Lol since we both picked different games, I just hope it hasn't made the decision tougher on you DanJiblets.

i own castlevania, and its a fantastic experience. Feels very castlevania 3, except with modern cinematic gaming flair.
Games a blast to play, combat system works great once it 'clicks' (dont think god of war, the similarity is only cosmetic, the heart of the combat system is the dodge system, not the attack system)
Boss fights are fun, flashy, and highly satisfying.
Its on the long side for the genre, coming in around 10-12 hours first time through, but short enough for replays to be enjoyable.
Cut scenes are skippable, which is nice, although youll probably want to watch the game engine cutscenes (non artsy looking ones) over again anyways, because they are really awesome.
Its a great game. I really hope mercury stream gets the greenlight for another crack at the castlevania sidescroller on 3ds.
That being said, luigis mansion is also a killer title. With lots of charm replay value, a meaty single player, and an incredibly addictive online multi.
The 3ds is just rockin on the games front.
*looks at wii u*
*shakes head*
