Okay, where do I start?
Just after finishing Skyward Sword (fantastic game, by the way, if you haven't checked it out yet), I was looking up Nintendo on Wikipedia to see what's next for my favorite company. I saw that they we're making a new console! Excitement flowed through my 12 year old self and found out more. I was amazed at the controller and it was finally getting good third party support, or so I thought.
Then E3 happened, I was more excited than I have ever been in my short lifetime. At the end, I was a little disappointed but that disappointment soon went away a few days on. The Wii U could be the rise of Nintendo, I thought.
When I finally got the Wii U, I was thinking of the many possibility's. There were a few games that were skipping the Wii U but I didn't really care at the time.
That all changed in February though, the Wii U hadn't had a good game in around 3 months! Rayman was getting ported to other consoles (and delayed) and so did Ninja Gaiden. Scribblenauts Unlimited was also delayed, a game that I pre-ordered. I don't even think it will come to the UK anymore.
This situation got even worse when I found out that the next Battlefield and Metal Gear games weren't coming to the Wii U, a console that could easily handle those games. Companies saying that they weren't going to risk putting their games on there. I mean, COME ON!
I am absolutely sick of this. Nintendo has lied to us. Back when the Wii U was announced, they promised us good third party support throughout it's lifespan. That went out the window, didn't it? Us Nintendo gamers are being left out from some really cool games that would be awesome on the Wii U! EA said that the Wii U isn't part of their gaming plan and the Unreal Engine devs laughed when they mentioned the Wii U. Is something that us loyal fans paid around $350 on a joke? I think not.
And the Wii U's marketing is absolutely pathetic. I have not even seen an advert for the Wii U!!!! I've asked many people what the think about it and they don't even know what it is! What's Nintendo doing? I remember back in the days of the Wii, there was always adverts about the Wii. They were bad but they made do!
Another thing that I hate about the Wii U is that it is going to be CRUSHED by the Next Xbox and the PS4. At school, people are saying that they are going to buy one of them and leave the Wii U out. Why? Because the Wii U is not next-gen. I think that the Wii U is next-gen. It doesn't need to be powerful to be next-gen, it's when it comes out. But still, why did Nintendo make another console that is considered last-gen? Didn't they learn from the Wii?
Thanks for reading, if you did. Please don't have a go at me, I love the Wii U but I think Nintendo need to change their tactics. Sometimes I even think Iwata should step down, we need someone fresh and 'down with it' for a good future for Nintendo. Thank you.
