Well, it wasn't that big of an advantage for Acclaim, as they quickly went out of business.

Shifting focus to the PS2 is what sunk them.  The Turok games sold very well on the N64, but tanked when it went multi platform.  They also lost the NFL Quarterback crowd when the N64 retired.  Their sports games werent successful on other platfoms, and with the Gamecube Madden was a better game right out of the gate, so a lot NFL Quarterback gamers on the N64 went to Madden with the Gamecube.  Acclaim made a lot of money with the N64, they lost it very quickly the following generation.  This is definately an opportunity for other publishers and developers.

For sure it's a opportunity for other devs. Konami have a great chance to make the best football game (PES 2014) on Wii U as do 2k and their other sports games.

Let's face it, even a developer without any skills in game design will be more talented than EA.

lol, they never said that at all. "They have no further games coming to Wii U" does not mean never, it just means as of right now. People are blowing this stuff waaaay out of proportion.

Plus, boycotting EA wouldn't do anything. They've got billions, bro. You think they care if you give them your money or not?

lol Probably. They only care about money, even if they have loads.

I haven't bought an EA game since Mass Effect 2. But I'm not sure losing EA's support is within Nintendo's interest right now. I think they are, er, "necessary evil". But then again, seeing what happened with SimCity and the CEO stepping down.
