Not Retro Studios. That company was never supposed to make games like DKCR (even though I love that game). The company was created to create games that appealed to western audiences. That's why the first games they were making were a first person action adventure game (nothing more that concepts and an engine which was later used in Prime), a Vehicle Combat game (think Twisted Metal meets Mario Kart battle mode), a football sim (we got Madden and NFL2K), and Raven Blade (an action rpg that they should totally come back to). Then they focused on Metroid Prime, and that became a huge hit. They were best with Meteoid, so that's why they continued those games. After DKCR was finished a lot of people left Retro and either founded their own studio (the people who almost made that Megaman X FPS, the Vita version of MGS HD Collection, and are currently working on Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate), or went to 343 Industries (which is why Halo 4 felt a bit like Meteoid Prime).

I'm not saying I wouldn't want to see a new 3D DK game, just not by Retro Studios: they need to focus on making Western titles.

Pokemon? Lol no I kid.

Maybe not a sequel but man, we need an adventure game that would let us control that DK. Enough with sidescrolling.

Didn't Rare do the same thing though? Think about it. Before they came along, Nintendo's answer to the Donkey Kong franchise were merely non-sidescrolling arcade games and portable games that were basic ports to the original. Then Rare came along and made DK, well, not Japanese. You can clearly see the British humor in DKC2 and DK64 as well as European-like cartoon design. They made it into a sidescrolling game that was based on the art of American regionalism and Romanticism. I consider that appealing to Western audiences.

I would trust Retro into making a sequel to DK64. Why not? They did great with open world scenarios in Metroid Prime and DKCR was tremendously fun to play, so why not do it? It's better than playing an idiotic port to the 3DS of the same game released 2 and a half years ago.

Rare came to Nintendo with a demo of the graphics engine used for DKC and were willing to make anything. Retro Studios was created to specifically be their Western Developer. I'm not saying they wouldn't do a good job, but they should stick to what they were made to do: shut fanboys up who say that Nintendo Systems can't output great visuals.

I don't get what you're trying to roll with, so I don't know. :P

I'm saying that I would rather have another company work on a 3D DK, and Retro Studios work on something they are more familiar with.

Everyone seems to want Retro to be the new rareware. And while they made some great games, retro should concentrate on new ideas, instead of following in Rares footsteps.

But as for your question, no. I would not want DK 64 on Wii U, maybe on 3DS, but if so it should be made by a company other that Retro.

Your reasoning doesn't make any sense to me though because Rare did the exact same thing Retro did, "appealed to Western audiences". Before they started DKC, they were noted for very epic Gothic fantasy games like Dungeons and Dragons, Conan The Barbarian, and Sabre Wulf, and horror maze games like Atic Atac and Ghost House. Then they went on to produce "fairy tale/natural" games like DK64, Banjo-Kazooie, and Conker. Just because Retro produced the Metroid Prime trilogy doesn't make it their established style; they can branch off to any direction they want to just as long as they keep the same quality of design and programming they did with their other installments.

I guess. I woild rather see them do a new Metroid, F Zero, or a new ip before a 3D DK, but I guess I wouldn't mind it.
