I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect

Totally expected, the Playstation 3 was $1,000 upon release.

The saddest part is that this sounds kinda reasonable, especially after the whole...

...That. I don't see myself picking up a PS4 at launch because of this.

699€?
That can`t be right. I doubt Sony will let the price go beyond 500€/$.
It`s just too much money.... again.

If it will be above 500euro, I'm pretty sure the Wii U isn't going to be the one to "fail" this generation.

Plus with the new Xbox and the ate it is getting (rumors maybe but idk at this point) Seems like this could get interesting

I that's to be true, it will be 600 some USD in America Oh well, I've only had a PS3 for a year, so I'm still playing all
The exclusives I missed out on! So I won't need a PS4 for a couple of years, maybe in 2016.
I've just had my PS3 a week lol Heck my Wii U for 2 1/2 weeks. Guess I'm going to stick with these for a few years.

Look at the Vita's pricing scheme.
Remember the PS3's original pricing scheme.
Yes. They can be this stupid. And, honestly, I'm expecting a price point over $450, regardless of the rumors. That is, unless Sony is even more stupid than I thought, and they're planning on bleeding another few billion a year for the next couple years...on top of the billions they're losing with the Vita.

Australian prices are notoriously higher than anywhere else.
You can't just convert to euro and that'll be the price over in Europe.
PS3 games costs about $120 new over there, yet Euro games don't cost €95.
I think €499 is a pretty decent guess.

The Vita and 3DS came out at the wrong time. If they had came pre 2008, they would have sold like madness at the price they were first asking. The reason why the Wii sold is because the give up a lot of things for motion controls which were fine in my opinion. If the Wii had came out with Xbox 360's power it would have been sold for 500-600 bucks at least.

When the PS3 launched, it was double the money in peru then it was in USA.
Well, I've finally found my Starfox, and I love it.

I understand.
But i wasn`t implying that the pricing will be exactly that.
Someone said here that the PS3 price at launch was 1000 Aus$, so my guess is that from 600€ it will come down aswell to about 450/500 - seeing as even the australian price came down for PS4.

At first I thought the PS4 was going to fail this generation. But now Microsoft doesn't seem to be in such a good position.. but we haven't seen anything yet.

I doubt they would've sold like mad. Not to mention, if they did come out pre-2008, Nintendo would've shot themselves in the foot with the DS line, not to mention losing them a crapton of money on each system sold, and the Vita would be losing many more billions per year than it already is.

Well, if PS4 is anything over $400 at launch, chances are I'm gonna wait for a price drop or sale. And since the Nextbox is gonna have DRM ( plus the exclusives don't interest me). I might be flying with the Wii U for possibly a year or more this gen. Hopefully PS4 won't cost too much, since I still want to get it.

Why is everything so expensive there?
