I could always hear my GameCube, and even now hear my Wii make the same noise that the GameCube used to make, maybe not quite so loud when playing GameCube games.. I always noticed mostly when a there was a fade to black/white/whatever in a game.
But I find the Wii and the Wii U are virtually soundless when playing a Wii or Wii U game.

I'd love that feature...
But not likely. No other console allows this.
