All 5 gens....maybe 6th if you really really like the fire fox.

 

My all time favorite started will have to be Charmander, not cause Fire types are the coolest ones to choose but I feel like a strong connection on having a fire lizard, evolve to a Dragon-Like pokemon in your adventure. It even fits with the character Red instead of Ash. Sorry if you like Ash but over the years, he desperately needed a deeper voice and an older look and a mature trainer, instead we have a child for 10 years but whatever.

 

I still like the other starters but Charmander just feels like the best overall for me.

I'm not a big fan of pokemon as I when I was younger...

 

Gen 1: Charmander

Gen 2: Cyndaquil

Gen 3: Treecko (its evolutions suck, though)

Gen 4: Turtwig (Eh, all the evolutions weren't great...)

Gen 5: *I never played gen 5*.  But if I had to, it would be Snivy

 

Gen 6:  Fennekin looks pretty cool.
