I thought of a new use for the wii u controller.

Since it has a camera, couldn't you mount it on your television and use it like Kinect or the Playstation eye?
One of the reasons playstation move is so accurate is the eye right?

maybe this is something that belongs in the "secrecy" topic

It may work for improving the wii remote motion controls, but u don't think it will work like the Kinect because the camera in the controller maybe a simple camera.

Lol I doubt it could improve on the Wii motion controls unless our WiiMotes each magically grow a glowing ball.

You have a point. I guess nintendo will have to make an accessory for the wii remotes or create new ones which is highly unlikely.

Kinect has 3D camera sensors. The camera on the Wii U is just a regular camera. I wonder why didn't Nintendo put a rotatable camera in the Wii U controller, just like in some laptops. Kinda like this: Posted Image

It could be just like your actual camera. Only takes pictures and videos.

The mechanics that make it rotate are prone to break, and will add to the controller's cost. There really isn't that great a need for it. I'd much rather the cost goes into a higher-quality camera than a swiveling one.

I doubt it. It would probably have to have two cameras or a special camera to do something like that.

It'd be awesome in my opinion if the new controller acted like a video game capturing device and recorded while you play. I would be willing to pay a little extra for a feature like that. XD Really hoping for some more FPS games also.

Improving the fidelity of the Wii Remote will have to wait until Nintendo releases a new remote for the Wii U. The only way really to my knowledge to increase the fidelity of the Wii Remote after Motion + is to replace the camera within the Wii Remote with a higher quality camera. The technology behind the Wii Remote is quite different than that behind PS Move.

Or do as dagwood dang suggests and add a second sensor bar. I could see that working.

I dont think the Wiimote could possibly get more accurate, it is ridiculously accurate. But the camera isnt HD and it would be hard to mount to many different models of TV. And i just dont like the idea of kinect (although they are begining to incorprate hand gestures into controller based games , ie Mass effect 3)
Any other ideas? Im curious if anyone will release a music rythm game that uses any of the MANY features of the controller. I think it was a dev for THQ on the E3 promo that said it best: "I call it the swissarmy knife of controllers it does absolutly everything you could want it to" . yes .... yes it does.
