Guess i will be the only one that isnt getting excited, another mario, so what, i really doubt that it will be unlike anything we have ever seen. Only thing i find interesting so far will be Metroid and the "X" game. 3-5 nintendo games....pretty sure we know what they are by now so no news here unless nintendo decides to do more than slap some slightly better textures on than last gen nintendo.
Now the 10-20 3rd party games, this would be interesting to me, however so far ALMOST every 3rd party game worth playing wont be on Wii-U, so im curious where they found that many to bring to WiiU, im going to go ahead and expect 10-15 shovelware titles, and hopefully a few good ones.
Look, i enjoy my WiiU a good bit, but realistically, how huge can nintendo possibly go with the same stuff and honestly get super excited with titles ive been playing for almost 25-30 years. I know fanboys will jump in and go all Mario on me and how it never gets old, or how its a first party console (i even said that one myself) but wasnt this marketed to core gamers too? maybe this was a vent, but im not expecting to be too wow'd here .
I don't understand why Nintendo releasing the same series is a bad thing. I mean, if it was pretty much the same game over and over *cough*COD*cough* then I could understand. But they aren't. Look at Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy. Those three games couldn't have been any different. The game mechanics, the level design and even the story was different. Mario Galaxy was probably the most unique game for the Wii, not only for a Mario game.
And don't get me started on Zelda. Every Zelda released is unique in its own way.
So .. What's the problem? Third party developers do this, Microsoft and Sony does this. I mean how many Final Fantasy will we have? Call of Duty? Metal Gear Solid? Splinter Cell? How many Halo's? God of Wars? Every company does this.
So what is the problem?
Now if the problem is you want a new world and new characters, for all we know we could be getting that.
For one, I am sure for the past thirty years you haven't been playing Metroid. Or Super Smash Bros. Two games all ready that isn't based in the mushroom kingdom. We know Miromoto (sp) is working on a new IP. You haven't been playing Pikman for the past thirty years.
Or you haven't been playing "X" for thirty years. You get the picture? Nintendo is providing different games. More so then Actovision and Microsoft combined.
