Not living the good life with these games

The second game I'm not enjoying is Super Metroid. Don't get me wrong, the game is a classic, but the replay value I have found horrendous. Oh well, I only played 30 cents for it. Also, the terrible story of Metroid Other M tainted my view of the Metroid series, so it will take a good new Metroid game to bring me back.
I'm probably going to be picking up Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Need for Speed, and Monster Hunter Ultimate, all for Wii U. Hopefully these games will give me a breath of fresh air. We'll see though.

Um, maybe you're at the point of thinking about retiring from gaming, I always get that from many gamers who think they are wasting their money on games they've been tired about. And I don't think you'll enjoy Monster Hunter 3 if you have this kind of feeling. Tekken Tag 2 was hilarious though.

Madden 13
The Last Story (traded it for Wii U)
Probably any Forza Motorsport game (had one, probably traded it for Wii U)

super metroid was a great game looking back, but i tried to re play it a few years ago and couldnt really get into it. The metroid game that i probably enjoyed the most was metroid fusion. it came out for the game boy advance, same mechanics as super metroid, but better graphics, slight change in weapons, and different suits you could wear was pretty cool. so if your looking for a metroid game to re-spark your interest, id try that one

I enjoyed Metroid: Zero Mission for GBA the two times I played through it before I traded it.

Trust me, you NEVER have to use a strategy guide, NEVER.
Although I agree with Julio, if you're in this mindset, you probably won't enjoy Monster Hunter, it doesn't really have any helping hands, it's not easy to do either.
I've been playing Super Metroid recently (It's my first time playing it actually) and yeah, Metroid Fusion'd probably bring you back to the franchise if you haven't played it yet. There's a little less exploration but... some unique bosses, some cool new gadgets, more concentration on it being super fun, all that jazz.

Pikmin is terrible... there, I said it.
It is one of the most repetitive and dull games I have ever played. The only good thing about it is it's originality (I'm talking about the first one btw).
I borrowed Monster Hunter Tri which I found was also very repetitive (along with many other issues), so I wouldn't recommend MHU if you are looking for some fresh and exciting gameplay.

Really? You think Super Metroid has bad replay value? It has multiple endings, is perfect for speedrunning due ton sequence breaking and item placement to compensate, and the fact that on your first run, you are likely to get no more than 70% if items found. I respect your opinion, but why don't you think it's replayableThe second game I'm not enjoying is Super Metroid. Because playing it is a chore after playing it a couple of times because you know where everything needed to beat the game is.

I guess you aren't big on speedrunning. Neither am I, but it's fun for me to try to do things out of order to challenge myself.Because playing it is a chore after playing it a couple of times because you know where everything needed to beat the game is.

I've been playing Super Metroid for about 9 hours now. I actually find it fun trying to scour the area for hidden power ups and areas. I've only needed to use a guide a few times. Not to mention, there's a scanner power up you find somewhere. Which can tell you where all the hidden exits and power ups there are in an area. I'll probably play some other 2D Metroid games next. My only problem with Super Metroid are those awkward wall jumps, they're so tricky and annoying to preform. I think there's a fair amount of content, for the reasons UltimateWaddleDee stated.
As for Pikmin 2, I haven't played much of it yet, despite getting it last year. But I enjoyed what I played, I'll make sure to take note of the area you mentioned.

Okay so I've been playing Pikmin 2. It started out fun. Then I got to the point where apparently, you have to throw half your Pikmin on a topsy turvy block to get to a cave where monsters will kill your Pikmin only to leave the cave to find that the other half of your Pikmin have been killed when you get back. There may be a way around it, but generally a game should not make a pretty good player like me use a strategy guide, unless it is to try for 100%. I'm very hesitant about the idea of paying $60 for Pikmin 3 even though the graphics are pretty far above average

Pikmin is a hard and nerf-wrecking game. There's always a way to get no pikins killed. It's hard though. I suggest you follow a walkthrough.
