I am curious about something... if I buy new super luigi U through NSMBU will I still get the 10% discount that deluxe owners get? Or is that only with eShop games? Should I buy it physical even though it is ten more dollars and I like the green box? :P Why are they charging ten extra dollars?

Not sure you would get the discount because NSLU is DLC.. The reason why they charge an extra 10 is because it's (obviously) a physical copy.

10% discount? I'm pretty sure the Deluxe promotion was that you would get points (check them on ddp.nintendo.com) that were equal to 10% of your purchase. Once you got 500 points, you could redeem them for a $5 eShop credit usable on 3DS or Wii U.

As for why Nintendo's charging $10 more. It's probably because of the costs for the case, disc, and manual. Plus it's incentive for people to buy the cheaper eShop DLC if they have NSMBU. Which also explains why the digital DLC and retail releases are stretched out.

For Europe (or at least UK) the Nintendo Direct said June 20th for digital, and July 26 for Retail. o3o
I would say it sucks for USA but... we usually ALWAYS get games later, so it makes a nice change to get a few things earlier.

June 20 DLC (will qualify for premium points)

July 26 Europe August 25 US & Canada (no premium points)

I'm thinking I might get both.

I do love collecting Mario game boxes for some odd reason.

As tempting as special boxes are, I'm going digital to stack up points. They'll only be available to obtain until the end of 2014.
