What I really look for in a Mario Kart game is the tracks. I really loved the ones in the Wii version, so that made it more enjoyable for me.

Basically I want great tracks (like the DK one from the GCN version, I always found that one to be so much fun), better item balancing than in the Wii version (so - literally - being hit by six items all at once in front of the finish line on the third lap and losing a race you had easily won't happen), and, of course, graphics that really take advantage of the Wii U. I know... Graphics... Who cares about those? But I think that Mario games can look great in HD. I have a feeling Mario Kart will be underwhelming in that regard, though. The Wii version seemed a bit off graphically to me.

Online voice chat, it needs it!! :D

I've been wanting voice chat in a kart racer for a very long time... I bought Sega All stars transformed thinking SEGA would do it, but nope.

Definitely needs two local multiplayer co-op, where both can go online to race, one player on TV, one player on gamepad would be sick.

Above all, I want them to remove the rubberband from this series.... You know when a racer falls far behind in a race, the game gives them every single power-up that relates to speed to pull the player into contention like a rubber band.

If you ask me, I think Blue Shells should stay. Simply keep them in the same style as MK7 and MK64's where it actually benefits the user by hitting all racers in advance to them, rather than just the individual in first.

I also don't favor the idea of bikes returning, as I believe it should stay as a one-time-thing for the Mario Kart series. Just as the dual racing/item usage concept was for Double Dash. For characters, a few additional newcomers would be nice. But I'm too lazy to think of any at the moment. Huhuh. :B Improving the custom kart idea from MK7 could also be well implemented into the next Mario Kart, as it could certainly enhance the experience, as well as keeping people interested for a longer duration of time.

Wouldn't it be cool if you had an automatically generated level? where you use the gamepad to draw a path and drop in obstacles and stuff, then the Wii U renders it into a seamless level?

It could be cool if it expanded to new Nintendo franchises. Like smash bros, but since that won't happen I'd say make the blue she'll less of a downer, make the bullet less of a perk. I like the coin based top speed from mk7.

Actually I really hope they don't add coins this time around. Especially if they're used to unlock karts like they were in Mario Kart 7.

I got so frustrated with Mario Kart 7. There was one kart I wanted from day one and it took me ages to get it. In between the random kart unlock system, and the fact that unavoidable items like the Blue Shell and Lightning Bolt would take away coins (which happened frequently on the third lap after the point at which any coins could be gotten), I got really annoyed.

If this is the Mario & Sonic kart game that is being talked about, then... bloddy hell

I'm totally fine with a ''M&S Kart'' game, but not now. I first of all want a normal Mario Kart game for Nintendos latest console, with only Mario characters in it.

And another thing I just thought about while writing this post, if they can put someone like Metal Mario (don't get me wrong, it's one of my favorite players) , why wouldn't they be able to put Paper Mario into the game? (Queen Bee,seriously Nintendo?)

I want unlockable/dlc characters though. Like Count Bleck or Queen Vanellope von Schweetz.

As there is absolutely no concrete information to actually discuss, I don't really have much to add to this thread. I did want to say that all I hope to see are graphics that are far better than what we saw in Mario Kart Wii. I was incredibly disappointed in the visuals, but I loved the gameplay, and I still play that game every now and then.

I just wanted to see something more advanced as far as the graphics go.

We'll see what happens at E3.

They've been reusing the same blocky character models and graphics from Double Dash in not only Mario Kart Wii but also Arcade GP, Arcade GP2 and Mario Kart 7, but based onall i've seen so far of Arcade GPDX, i think their finally breaking the pattern and the Mario Kart U will look better.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics Wii U graphics for this game and I'm happy. A better graphics quality than that even and I'm thrilled.

I certainly hope so. I know graphics aren't everything, but that's not an excuse to be lazy. Nothing wrong with actually putting effort into the visuals.

This looks good but Mario Kart Wii U Could look better since Wii U can produce even better graphics.

I think they'll use the GamePad Screen only for map and "rearview", but are there any chances of they using it for some new kind of gameplay? I can't think about nothing, and I really want they to take out the paraglider and also the coins.

I dream with two modes of Mario Kart since Mario Kart Wii; The Normal Mode and the Doule Dash Mode. I think it would be fun to have two "racing types", it would improve the replay of the game... I really like this idea of "co-op racing", and with the touch pad, some cool gameplay could be added.

And they could do some good use of the touch screen for new battle modes. Good aim for shell throw for example (only in battle, of course).
