According to https://twitter.com/gibbogame Nintendo will release a Free to Play game this fiscal year.
It`s not Mario or Pokémon and so far there`s no confirmation on the plattform of choice.
My guess is that this will come to the Wii U for them to use the NFC to buy characters for the game.
Wild guess, i know.

Could be a brand new IP though? Maybe an open-world MMO where you can interact with iconic Nintendo characters, but you pick a race and a class. You can base your skills off of Nintendo characters, like DC Universe Online.

A MMO, whatever the genre, would be awesome!
Both MS and Sony have announced at least one for their consoles. Only Nintendo left.

Exactly, It would be a great way to show that Nintendo isin't lagging behind in the race for console domination. Plus, it would earn them big bucks and give Nintendo fans a new way to interact with other players.

It`s important for Wii U to bet on MMO`s because they will likely become the next big thing for MP gaming.
I`m still waiting for Ghost Recon Online!

I don`t think that can be called Free to Play, but it´s Nintendo we are talking about so it`s a good candidate - fingers crossed it`s something better.

I think that if it´s a Nintendo like franchise, it could take advantage of the NFC.

It could work. And i doubt people would mind paying for that as there are a lot of drawings on Miiverse!
As you, i hope it`s something more like an actual videogame and not an app.
