In a press release today, Square Enix confirmed that the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut will no longer be a Wii U exclusive.

The publisher announced the cut earlier this year, promising exclusivity to Nintendo's console and outlining features which played to the strengths of the Wii U GamePad. Today, Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Mac versions were announced for release later this year.

It's an unfortunate loss for Nintendo, which in this morning's Nintendo Direct highlighted the game in a video montage demonstrating third-party support for the publisher.

"After our Director's Cut announcement we received an overwhelming response from the community asking us to bring this ultimate edition of human revolution to other platforms," said Stéphane D’Astous, General Manager of developer Eidos-Montreal in the press release. "You asked for this!"

The Wii U-specific touchscreen features Eidos-Montreal were implementing will now carry over to Microsoft's SmartGlass and the PlayStation Vita.

Its an old port anyways, I wasnt going to buy it. It certainly isnt a system seller either, so i have no issue with this.

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

Thank god for Platinum. We still need more exclusives. I'm rooting for news in those future ND's they were talking about.

And I just realized Nintendo will be the ones with the awesome gamepad features so that's a plus for Nintendo.

They did though. They decided releasing it across all platforms will be a more profitable venture than just doing Wii U. However, this isn't the same case as Rayman Legends. There really isn't any backlash from adding the PS4 and XBOX One to the quota.
