Jagex, the folks behind Runescape, a free-to-play and crazily popular MMORPG have said they want to bring the game to all consoles once they become more open to the sort of online experience they offer.
This is what Mark Gerhard of Jagex had to say:
I think they [Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo] will open up their platforms a bit more, liberate them a bit more. It's just a matter of time. But we're well placed to be on all devices soon so we can have a global community.
Something we've heard repeatedly though is how flexible the online system for the Wii U is meant to be. If that's the case, then Runescape may actually have a shot at being on the console. It's not the sort of game I'm going to play because it's mostly just a timesuck, but it'd be an interesting addition to the Wii U.
