When playing nintendo land metroid blast or zelda quest on gamepad, my screen starts to spin , and if i press + button, i can see the gamepad icon spinning too.I've trying re-syncing loads of limes, and when this happen, I get really annoyed

EDIT: now I know that it isn't nintendo land fault, since when playing fifa 13 the same also occurs.

Mine did that for a few seconds and then stopped and it never happened again. Maybe call Nintendo about it.

Hey cryscharmander

Did you get your problem solved? I'm having the same issue (but when playing Zelda Wind Waker HD), also I'm in similar position regarding call the Nintendo line or take it to warranty :(

Ok, heres what probably happened, one of your gyroscopes and/or accelerometers are stuck.

These 'chips' are actually mechanical, thats why they are called mems, micro electromechanical machines.

So, since they are in fact tiny physical machines with tiny moving parts, they can actually get stuck.

This is a pretty rare occurance, although it has happened to me several times with wiimote, and the m+dongle. Enough for me to get what side needed to be bumped via how the screen was turning.

Try firmly (but gently!) Tapping your game pad on various sides on a solid surface, then try recalibrating.

Hopefully your gamepad is not defective and just stuck, as iver heard this stuff is amazingly expensive in brazil.

sometimes throwing it (carefully) IS the solution. Who would have thought?

Well I have only shake it with no luck, I will try today tapping carefully and will let you know...

grahamf, when you say that throwing it could work, you mean throw it once the game has started and I'm seeing the problem? or before turn on the console?

( btw these forums are great :) here's a lot of activity, I posted my issue in Nintendo Support forums but nobody have replied so far )

I was mostly saying to give it a good whack on the back and maybe that will help. the thing is pretty kid friendly so as long as you avoid the screen an buttons it will handle a hard impact no problem (I wouldn't recommend a hammer though, just use the part of you palm that's near the wrist).

And you might have to turn it off to recalibrate it, but whacking it while it's on should immediately tell you if it starts to work properly.

now it won't spin anymore, but it can't still track motion left/right only up/down.
