Yeah I think it's a given that the PS4 and Xbox 720 will have better graphics than the Wii U and I wouldn't if not for the fact that we're going to lose LOADS of third party support just like the Wii.
How are they going to lose support when they will have similar technology. Nothing is a given in this world, but I will say yes it is likely. The graphics was not the Wii's problem it was the processing power that was the Wii's problem in porting over games. It had nothing to do with the graphics. Graphics is an easy work around but processing power takes time to work around and developers didn't want to invest in that time. The Wii U support will still be alive in the next consoles of Sony and Microsoft.

I don't think they're going to be similar in technology the PS4 and Xbox 720 will destroy the Wii U. Then when developers make multiplatforms on them they won't port them to the Wii U because they'd have to do so much downgrading and we'll lose third party support. That's exactly what happened with the Wii the PS3 and Xbox 360 get all these great games and the Wii doesn't get them because it's so underpowered.

Well don't buy it. While you enjoy the other two systems, I certainly will be enjoying the Wii U with no fears of the next consoles from the other systems. As was stated that Sony will not be investing that much into their next console. I hope you not devastated when those consoles come out and are only 25% percent more powerful than the Wii U. As I said the downgrading was cause by the processing power not by lack of graphics. Your fears are valid but this is a different generation. What happen last gen is just history. Nintendo is also supporting Third Party developers unlike in the past.
Lowe admits that “traditionally we would invest our time and money more into first party,” but follows-up by saying:
…we have to invest in a much bigger way in third party partners because there are certain types of games that we’re just not specialists at. If we want to create a console that will appeal across boundaries to all different types of gamers we’re going to need their support more than ever before.

No I think you're taking this wrong. I'm a Nintendo fanboy and I will buy the Wii U and not the PS4 and Xbox 720. I even said in my original post that I don't care that we'll have a less powerful system I'm just bothered about the fact the PS4 and Xbox 720 will get games like Mass Effect, Battlefield, Crysis and we won't. Now maybe you're right and we'll still get big multiplatform games along with them but I'm worried that we'll get left out.

oh, I understand your fears. Those game engines are running on the Wii U so if I could ease that fear then here goes.

Oh yeah I know we'll get multiplatforms with PS3 and 360. Question what about when CryEngine 4, Frostbite 3.0 and Unreal Engine 4 come producing say Battlefield 5, Crysis 5 and Mass Effect 5 which come out on PS4 and Xbox 720 we Wii U be included. But I'm sure we'll get Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and Crysis 3 and probably the sequels to them but after that I'm not sure.

Dont worry the wii lost mutiplats because it was extreamly weaker to its competitor but that will not be the case this gen ,Since from what we know about the wiiu they can't make their system much higher for it would effect the price unless their not going to release their consoles till 2015-2016,The graphics wont be that different what you can expect to be better with the other next gen console isNo I think you're taking this wrong. 1.A little better physics
2.Lighting a little better
3.models with a little more detail in like the face
Small things like that nothing to lose multiplats over I Say it will be less noticeable than this

Actually, North America is the only territory that remains with more 360 sales than PS3 sales. You also have to keep in mind that Microsoft has a very small install base in Japan though. That's the real reason the PS3 has performed so much better in it's lifecycle sales than the 360 (selling nearly as many with a full year less time on the market). If you look at only N/A and Europe the numbers shift heavily in favor of the 360.
While it's possible we could see a PS4 as early as next year, I in fact would heavily doubt it. Sony lives by the 10 year life cycle and there is no indication they will abandon it now. The PS3 still has a lot of life left in it so they can take their time, I think 2014 is the earliest we'll see a PS4, with Sony running PS3 and PS4 support concurrently for a couple years like they did with the PS2 and PS3. It makes sense for them for the lifecycle tendencies and it also allows a year or two more for higher tech capabilities to cheapen (and a year or two makes a huge difference when your talking about the price of technology).
and yes, Sony lives by the 10 year life cycle, but to you know what that means?
Releasing a PS4 right now would not break their 10 year life cycle deal. That just means that it will be supported for 10 years. The PS2 is on it's 11th year of it's life cycle.

They made their current engines for the next gen consoles not the current gen consoles. They are thinking ahead. So for the next engines will be toward the end of the next gen consoles and will be for their next gen consoles. I hope that didn't confuse you.

No that didn't confuse me. Though if they made their next gen engines on current gen platforms then won't they make the next next gen engines on next gen platforms?

Yes they will but it would be a water down version like the ones that are on the consoles today which the wiiu will probably be able to run on with the other consoles .No that didn't confuse me. Why? Why would you needlessly resurrect a topic that is over a year old?
This seems to be happening a lot today im noticing....
