I have gold and yet I can not get the offered Smash Bros, am I doing something wrong?

I mean gold as in gold status. It is when you get over 300 coins. I just got an account and got the gold status and was trying to get the free smash bros for Platinum or Gold status users. I am in America.

Did you get the Gold status before the end of June? If not, the status applies for next June's rewards. At least you can try and hit Platinum?

No i just got it yesterday. Thank you, I now get why it didn't work.
