Bethesda, the critically acclaimed development studio behind The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, has reiterated that the company has no plans to develop for Wii U. Bethesda’s marketing exec Pete Hines says that this is due to hardware issues and that none of the games that Bethesda has in development will be coming to the struggling platform.
“It’s largely a hardware thing. We make the games that we want to make, on whatever platforms will support them as developed. None of the games we’ve announced are being developed for the Wii U, so it’s guaranteed that none of those games are coming to Wii U.”

That's what Bethesda mean to me anyway, their games have always been buggy messes, not because they're inept as such, but because they've always made their games too open and been unable to deal with the unpredictability that causes.
Also, they've never struck me as try-hards that would make a game specifically for one type of architecture, they'd rather do PC version and outsource a port, something they don't need to do for ps4 and x1.

One does not play Bethseda on consoles. The master race is the way to go for TES. After all, a big draw of the series are the mods. It would've been awesome to have seen a Fallout game using the UPad as a Pipboy though.

Games have to pass a quality test before they can be sold for a Nintendo console. Now this has nothing to do with the game being any good, but that it is at least playable. For example, if a game freezes up every 5 minutes, it will fail the test and the developer will have to fix the bugs and send it in again for testing.

Or maybe they actually like money. Wii U seems to be losing a lot of developers money these days.

Only the ones that don't put money into their games and expect them to be cash cows. Bethesda games are basically designed for PC and the flexibility it offers, which makes the console versions almost always terrible in comparison. And I highly doubt they'll spend the time to modify their engine to a unique platform, no mater how efficient or powerful.

It started as one article and was re- propagated a million times.
Bethesda was asked about Wii u.
They then proceeded to discuss why future games wouldn't come to x360. The reason? "It's largely a hardware thing." That was used as an example of why future games won't come to Wii u. But Hines never actually gets into any detail about Wii U.
It was basically a non-answer skate-around, but it was implied by the journalist that the 360 reference was an example relating to wii u and that the Wii u has some limitation.
Actually, the only Wii u specifics given were that Bethesda isn't currently developing for the console and that it remains to be seen what the future holds. No hardware limitations were attributed to the Wii u by Bethesda. Interesting how some outlets choose to cut info out in order to dramatize the situation.
Also "as developed" is careful wording. It is probably best translated as "x86."
They don't have a motivation to code a Power version so they won't.
That's about the only "hardware thing" that applies here.

My main response is actually a question... Does Bethsheba really have a hardwhare problem with the Wii U or does Bethsheba just not want to publish games for the Wii U, and is just using the hardware as an excuse? If Bethsheba has a hard ware problem, I think they should say what that is, but if Bethsheba just dosen't want to make games on the Wii U, then hiding behind a hardware issue may not be the best way to say that.

They never said the Wii u has a hardware issue. They meant that in terms of Xbox 360. It was the journalist who said the the 360 was an example related to Wii u. Not Hines. Crazy how clever journalistic manipulation changes everything. My main response is actually a question... It's a very poor piece of journalism as the quotes are cut and placed how the journalist wants. And mynintendo news doesn't even give you the piece. They just paraphrase a journalist, missing bethesdas actual quote entirely.

It's a shame that journalism has gotten to this. Here in Canada you'd be bending the law, if not outright breaking it. It's illegal to knowingly broadcast false information.

Gaming journalism is pretty much a bunch of glorified fan blogs with skewed opinions, sloppily done research, and lack of professionalism. There's a reason it's mocked time and time again.
