I got mine in April- I'm okay with it.  I got a $25 gift card.  I've probably put over 100 hours on it, not to mention my brother, so I figure I got my money's worth.  They probably should have something for folks who just bought one this summer tho.

Reducing the Wii U's price this early without an ambassador program is a bad move IMO. Now people won't want to buy a Nintendo console at launch. It's just as bad as having a low install base and if they also have a low install base for their next console at launch that could be even worse.

Ambassador programs are not a necessity, because it's not like it effects a large number of people. Initial sales were shocking so it would probably cost Nintendo more money to set up a program than it would be worth.
