Hi all!  I'm buying MH3U this afternoon from someone on Craigslist and have no idea what I'm doing.  Never played a MH game before.  Anyone interested in starting a couple characters to play online semi-regularly?

I haven't really started playing it since I got it. I would love to play online with you except the only time I have is during Christmas which is when I have 3 weeks off.

Haha but I could be your apprentice!  It'd be awesome to start characters with someone who really knows the game as well as you.

Yeah, you should get it!  It'd be cool to have a whole group of 4 from the forums.

I've played it twice- it looks cool but I haven't invested the time in it just yet..... so maybe I would be a good candidate.

It kinda looks like we're starting a Saturday hunt every week. Last weekend we had three people with endgame weapons (Me, Itogi, and Gaymer I believe) and one newcomer (Marcus Noer).  As a result, we were doing the easy quests Marcus had to do and were obliterating them, not really giving him much time to get used to fighting these monsters.  I think we stopped right before his urgent quest to reach high rank. 

 

Kinda hoping if we do have a large turn out we can balance out the rooms.  Either a good mix of new and experienced or have a room for newcomers and a separate room for experienced players.  I'm good with whatever, only real targets I have these days are lucent Nargacuga and getting those last two awards.  I'm fine with helping people.

 

I won't be starting a new character though, put too much time into my current one to want to start from scratch.

The thing with the newbies not learning or contributing much is what concerns me if not all characters are new.  Is it still fun for the new folks?

Unfortunately it's more likely 29.99 Euro.  I think the US/EU prices are usually the same numerically.

Don't worry, there's still hundreds of people playing.

 

I strongly suggest that you first play through the offline a little bit (at least until rathian).

 

If you find it hard to grasp the first concepts (because the game won't tell you), talk to people or watch let's plays on youtube. There's a lot of let's plays that cover the basics of the game.

 

Remember to look for people of the same rank as you when joining a city. There are three tiers of dificulty: low rank, high rank, and G rank. Look for low rank cities and have fun!
