Last night was the series finale. And it ended with Dexter losing everything. Since he failed to kill Saxon when he had the chance he lost Deb, his son, and Hannah. He took Deb off life support after she had a turn for the worse, and dumped her in the ocean and went head on with a hurricane, he survived obviously. Now he faked his death and is working as a lumberjack and the series ends with his going home to an isolated cabin, him sitting down and then looking at the camera and it fades to black.
I thought it was more of an interesting ending to do rather than the Quinn BS or Dexter running away into the sunset. Dexter at this point has lost everything, no matter what he does or do,he will always be a serial killer and psychopath. It seems like the Dark Passenger has consumed him for good this time.
