I am against Nintendo releasing full games on iOS or Android. But I thought this...what if Nintendo would release and invest into Episode One touch versions of their famous games. Just a bit of a mini Zelda, MariovsDonkey, zelda, w101 and Pikmin and games like that but only the first 10% with a closed chapter mark. Then, "for the full experience buy a WiiU or 3ds.

That would be a pretty cheap way of attracting customers and would probably lead to Nintendo being awarded with the Worst company of the year title.

They could release mini games on these platforms.....   What about a Nintendo themed "angry birds" style game?  they can do a lot to get their name out there....

Yeah indeed, i also dont think that the controlstyle could be fully translated to touch only.

Maybe Nintendo could act as a publisher. Picking up promising titles, help a bit with the polishing to make they receive the 'nintendo seal of quality', then publish. This way the coreteams will focus on nintendo platform only

I'd prefer it if they just did complementary apps, like a Pokedex app. It'd work as marketing without feeling like a cop out.

No they can't even turn out games for the Wii u and 3ds. They don't need this on them also.

 

But if they did take some ds games and made them for a phone they would pick up a few $ but I don't thing much.

When did they ever say they were? All I recall is the Miiverse & ability to buy Wii U games from your mobile devices was coming. (Maybe I missed something).

Also, why are you against a so called beloved company making extra cash? Not like they are voiding their main flag ships. It would just be dated games from previous generations that most people owning the new systems don't care much for in most cases.

I beg to differ. A lot of Wii, DS, 3DS, and some Wii U games are just flicking motions for one direction via wrist or swipe on the touch screen. Making a major part of there games quiet easier to port over. Wii Sports for example could be very easy on a touch screen, just swipe the screen in the direction to hit the ball in say tennis. Swipe back and then forwards really quick for bowling. Boxing you would need to do some two finger tricks, but very plausable, so yeah, don't see the problem in controls.

There have been a few DS games that made it to IOS/Android. The Phoenix Wright games, The World Ends With You, GTA Chinatown Wars, and a few Assassin's Creed games.

Nintendo should simply view this as exposure in an arena where they are all but absent.  Out state, out of mind?
