Wouldn't surprise me. The Wii U is selling like trash. Especially with the PS4 and XO on the horizon, they'll take away from the sales.

It much more far in development then you give it credit for. Melee also came out like a year and half after the original.

maybe....also they aren't doing a story mode...so basically this is just brawl HD with some changes to the mechanics.

Cool cool.

Still on the fence on this game though.  So long as it's not the same game with a different subtitle, I may consider it for the 3DS.  Looking forward to new information to see how this game is compared to others in the series.

 

In my opinion I think they made a mistake in making it for 3DS too.  Buy the Wii U with its non impressive library (I am including the upcoming mario and next years donkey kong) or snag a 2DS or even refurbished 3DS at a much cheaper price with a great selection of titles compared to the Wii U.  If I didn't have these systems already, I'd go with the 3DS option just for the sake of saving money, but the differences between Wii U and 3DS versions might tip the scales for some.

Smash Bros was announced at Nintendo's E3 2011. So two years and four months. It would be almost three years come this rumored release date. We need more new character announcements and I could think of plenty.

It would be like how Brawl and Mario Kart Wii released months within each other.

 

Mario Kart 8= Spring 

Smash Bros Wii U= May

 

Mario Kart Wii= April

Smash Bros Brawl= March

 

Except this time Smash Bros would release after Mario Kart.

Yes but they hadn't started developing it until at-least April 2012 because that's when KIU 3DS was finished. That means it's only been a year and 6 months. And come the rumored release date that would be only two years and a month. That's not enough time for such a high quality title as Smash Bros. I hope it doesn't come out till the end of 2014, to be honest.

Zinix, you're setting me up for dissapointment, extreme dissapointment.

I would love for this to be true but I doubt it is to be honest. Though I wouldn't mind being wrong.

Please don't forget, one of the reasons why Namco Bandai was hired was to help make the development shorten to around two years. That said, it's not like it's an unreasonable date. I doubt this will be the exact date of release, but it's pretty close to the earliest time that Nintendo hope to have it out.

I rather have Sakurai say the final word when is the release date for SSB4 cause the game might delay and come in 2015. If SSB4 come next year it feel that Sakura and his team rush the game with out caring.

With Mario Kart 8 coming Spring, i doubt Smash would come so near it.
Could see it releasing around summer and the 3DS version around the holidays.

 

Zelda Wii U for the holidays
Smash 3DS for the holidays would be a killer combo for Nintendo!
