Think I'm going to wait.... the way I have mine set up, it's not that big of a deal to just plug it in.  Plus I don't usually play it longer than two hours anyway.   I'd rather put that money toward Donkey Kong

yeah, so far I'm finding I really don't need it. I keep my Wii U on a charging dock when i don't use it, and by the time the batterry is low I've been playing almost too long.

High demand for this battery, I ordered mine on the December 21st and I thought it would be here by now. Checked and it's on back order.

Is there a reason why they didn't just use this in the first place?

Most likely cost, these types of battery are expensive.

Yea its all due to cost.

IF they came out with this build in. Then they would probably have to up the price by $20-$40. Which i know they didnt want to do.

 

But i might get one of these.

I havent played the wii u in forever but when i do i play it untill the gamepad battery dies out. I think is normally 3-4hrs.

Hoping this will give 7hrs. but we will see.

Well my card was just charged today so it looks like the batteries are back in stock and shipping.

My official battery pack has now shipped and looking forward to trying it out.

UPDATE:

 

After spending 3 hours trying to collect everything in Mario 3d World I can say the high capacity battery was money well spent. After playing the battery icon was still full.

 

It came in a heavy but tiny little box with a warranty, simple instructions etc and a nice little screwdriver that will come in handy.

I knew that there were a lot of collectables in 3D World, so I made sure to collect everything on my first play-through. Meant I didn't have to do any backtracking.
