Wii U power players now have an extra reason to be thankful this holiday season. Nintendo has finally made its Wii U GamePad High-Capacity Battery available in the United States for $32.

While the standard 1500mAh version that's bundled with the Wii U console offers between three to five hours of life, the new 2550mAh capacity pack increases this to between five and eight hours. According to Nintendo, it can be easily installed using a screwdriver.

The high-capacity battery was previously released in Japan this past July, but it was unknown at the time if or when it would launch in other territories. The Wii U GamePad High-Capacity Battery can be purchased directly from Nintendo's online store.
