I'm very picky when it comes to computers but i recommend ASUS,HP or MSI. Whatever you do, stay away from Acer.(they have heat problems)

hp. i recently bought a new hp computer for £650. its awesome, its no alienware gaming computer but its still great. 1 TB, 1GB graphics card, 4GB ram and intel core i3.

i dont really know what you want to use it for (so more info on that would help) but basically my computer will do all basic tasks at full speed ie browsing and word documents. gaming wise its good too. no lag when using a HD texture pack on minecraft :P more importantly, runs shogun 2 total war (but not on high settings). and ive met the minimum requirements to run battlefield 3 but not on high settings either.

Oh really?
I have an Acer, and it doesn't have heat problems. It is fantastic.
Out of personal experience from Dell, Acer, and HP, get the Acer computer. You won't regret it. ;)

Well maybe they have fixed this in their newer computers but they are well known for this issue.

Acer has heat issues? I think you mean HP. My family went through 5 PC's in a year because of heating issues

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

I guess i was unlucky then... anyway i do prefer Asus over Acer. Their build quality is very good.

HP, they generally have middle to top range specs for the generation. They nearly always have a good amount of RAM etc etc.

HP are good, buy it.
