If you had the power and could change ONE thing about the Wii U, what would it be. Choose wisely.

 

For me i'd change the pre launch marketing and advertise and tease the Wii U alongside booth demos aggressively a full year before launch noting words such as next gen, brand new console etc.

 

I was going to give it 4gb RAM, or better launch titles, but I feel the number one fault with Wii U was the lack of pre launch marketing, getting the general public excited even befor E3 2012! That way everyone would know about the console and know that it was a brand new system with a brand new way of playing for a full year before launch, even with an anemic set of lauch titles I feel that people would have had the hype train shoved up their bottoms for a full year beforehand they'd buy it anyway.

 

However what ONE thing would you choose to change?

Analog triggers on the gamepad and pro controller. Everything else is probably being worked on as of this moment.

Pretty much just a bit more power. Not quite PS4 amounts of power, but like 4-6GB of RAM.

 

But I'm not a tech-head, so idk what else would have to change.

Make first party titles that everyone wants, not just hardcore fans.

Change the name and logo.

It got the stigma that I feel it's the new SNES.

And something to do with the gamepad outside of using the internet browser since in games it's pretty much like any other controller with bad sticks and button layout.

I would hold the WiiU back a year. I just feel like Nintendo panicked and tried to put it out there. I know this would put them in direct competition with Xbone and PS4 but it would have given them the time to maybe change it a bit and give not only their teams but third party's enough time to develop launch games. The WiiU could have launched great with Nintendo's Pikmin 3, W101, Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD etc. aswell as ZombiU (which would have turned into a system seller because they had the time) Batman, ACIV and Ghosts. This would also put SSB, MK8 and Bayo 2 in their launch window. Not to mention what another year could have done for Miiverse/Online and marketing.

 

Don't know if it would have worked but it's fun to fantasize.
