This actually came out a few weeks ago, but in the absolute dearth of worthwhile anything from nintendo I guess I was too lethargic to look for anything and Missed it.
What I think I find so amazing about this is the comments section, with the exception of 1 or 2 obvious troll anti wii u comments, every single person is unanimously excited about this. Many people who saw it for the first time state they want a wii u now, everybody loves it.... The comments section is practically unanimously positive, which is practically an impossibility on a wii u article.
And its been over half a year since a peep has been made about this game. These people are just seeing a 7 month old trailer for the first time.
Nintendo, WHY ARE YOU HIDING THIS? Do you not see how people are responding to this? Just a few screens here and there, a little chat with the team every few months. fricking anything.... Except the complete and absolute nothing you have undeservingly given this game.

They are converting X into a platformer. Takes time.

Actually, I am Okay witht his getting delayed. As long as I am kept informed, like I said, a screen here, a word from the team there, I will gladly bear the wait.
Takahashi and his teams games are very, very, ambitious. Before Xenoblade, he has never actually completed one of his 'dream projects', because it was so big, the publishers got scared and wouldnt let him finish, they pulled the budget. Xenogears was LITERALLY half a game. Square stopped the budget halfway through and the entire second half of the game was literally told in scrolling text as a character sat in a chair. But man, was that first half of the game amazing.
Xenosaga was half, less than half, of a planned series.
Xenoblade was the first 'xeno' game Takahashi was actually able to complete. It almost didnt happen. The only reason Xenoblade was finished, was because monolitsoft was working with Nintendo now.
Halfway through the project monolithsoft encountered a sea of difficulties and, realising they would miss the launch deadline, Takahashi met with Hitoshi Yamagami, the Nintendo producer who oversaw the RPG's development, to state how he would compromise the game to meet the deadline, remove areas, turn entire chapters into cutscenes, end the game early, those all too familiar Takahashi game deadline-aiding compromises. But Yamagami rejected the plan and told the designer: "You've come this far. You should see it through to the end. I'll convince the others at the company."
This, THIS is why nintendo NEEDS to STAY NINTENDO, and NOT resort to the third party garbage slinging lemming following garbage everyone is calling on them to do. I will give up a HUNDRED crappy third party games for just ONE of these. I will give it up with a smile. WIth a laugh. I will give them ALL UP on coming to a nintendo platform. Every single western third party game. Those games are worthless in comparison.
But this complete and absolute silence is horrible. And it is just so damaging to this title. All people have to do, is find out it exists, and they are nearly unanimously enthralled, but Nintendo seems to be doing everything possible to stop that from happening.

I'm just impatient and want my cake this year is all. I'm a Xenophobe who wants cake.

just curious, but what's the song in the trailer? Can I get it as a download and is there a full version? And this game will be a must buy for me as well, even though I probably won't invest much time into it. Hopefully that's not the case as it looks amazing and I want to Play it an awful lot. I really hope they hype this game up before launch in other news outlets. It would be a perfect game to advertise in something like a Super Bowl commercial or during a mainstream Western event. The mechs and stuff would totally appeal to that audience that is currently flocking to Titanfall. The advertising would have to be done right, but it has so much marketing potential on top of game potential

I dont know the male singtalker, but I know the female singers name is Mika Kobayashi, I dont know the name of the song, but according to soraya saga, its an original song made specifically for the trailer, the lyrics basically talk about Lost Jerusalem, or whatever it will be called in this Xeno title if square copyrights keep it from being used.

I imagine we'll be seeing a whole lot more of this game throughout this year, don't worry my friend. It's one of the few big games Nintendo has in the pipeline and I think they will start promoting it for that reason alone. Think about it, just about every other game they've promoted has already come aside from Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Mario Kart will be out by May which means the only already big announced stuff they're gonna have for E3 is mainly Bayonetta 2, Smash, and this.
It's obvious they aren't quite ready to give it a full unveiling yet (we don't even have a name) but it will come eventually. Frankly I think they could turn a lot of heads at E3 if they kick the promotion for this game in to overdrive.

Eurogamer needs to stop flip-flopping. One minute Nintendo is totes doomed lol and nothing can save them, next they're saying X is the most anticipated game of 2014. Make up yer minds guys.
The first statement is about commercial failure, the second statement is about a good game. There's no contradiction there.

The first statement about commercial failure was unnecessarily negative, and kind of wrong. They weren't in as bad of a situation as they tried to make it seem.

Personally I'm not excited for this game because I'm not really into RPGs, however I would like to see some more footage before I decide whether or not I will buy it. Hopefully nintendo will heavily promote this game but I also hope they know that outside japan it will really only sell to (a relatively large) niche market and we will need another big hitter for holiday 2014.

When it comes to creating hype around their products Nintendo are woefully inept.

Shouldn't the developers have responsibility for promoting their games too?
Also, I would rather be pleasantly surprised by a game flying under the radar than some overhyped garbage, e.g Ryse, Titanfall etc.

Hype sells games and I knew you would bring Xbox One games into this, I mean it's not like Killzone and Knack aren't hyped up garbage is it?

Nintendo IS the developer, Monolithsoft is a 1st party Nintendo studio. They are Nintendo, marketing for their games is Nintendos responsibility, as they are Nintendos games and IP's.
And having marketing hype isnt what determines whether something is overhyped garbage or not. Whether or not it is a garbage product determines that. Letting people know this game exists is not suddenly going to turn it into garbage.
