ok so we know the Wii U will be released after April of next year. but how long will nintendo continue to support the Wii? reggie recently said Zelda skyward sword wont be the last big title for the Wii and i believe him. if nintendo is smart they will market the Wii more towards the casual/intermediate gamer... and Wii U towards the hardcore/ mature gamer. ok so why am i disappointed in the Wii? the graphics.... not that the system was underpowered. i guess it will be on the developers. PS2 was the weakest of last gen consoles.... but late in its life developers made games that gamers didnt believe could be achieved on the console. they sucked every bit of power out of the console. when i brought the Wii i knew i wasn't getting a hd console... but i though it would mirror PS2 last gen and we would see games that defied what we though was possible on the little white box.

The Wii is technically more powerful than the GameCube, which was more powerful than the PS2. The Wii can pull off some of the most beautiful graphics if they put the work into it. Look at Mario Galaxy, Xenoblade, etc, and monster hunter.

Body = Ready for Wii U!

But they had to waste so much time and money optimising and finding out techniques just to make those games ok. If the Wii was more powerful they could've just made those games without wasting that money and time - plus they'd still look even better. I really think we've voiced our dissapaintment in the Wii enough since it was released, it's time we started looking forward to the Wii U.The Wii is technically more powerful than the GameCube, which was more powerful than the PS2. But overall, it was still cheaper than making the graphics 720p, and it still looked just as good. In fact, iirc, Monster Hunter Tri was put on the Wii because the PS3 was way too expensive to develop for, and still...Monster Hunter still looked just as good as a PS3 release.
Honestly, I'd rather take innovation over graphics...and Sony doesn't exactly seem to be 'innovative' as much as "LOOK WUT THIER DOING OMG". I'll give points to Microsoft for the Kinect. (Although, I don't see it becoming the industry standard anytime soon, albeit it is a cool gizmo.) The Wii system itself hasn't disappointed me, there's plenty of content for it. I've not been playing it alot, as I've recently got my PS3, and I'm playing games on that.

what kind of logic is this?
As GC said, even the highest budget AAA game on the Wii was cheaper then the lowest AAA budget for an HD console. Using Skyward Sword as an example, the game looks stunning even without being HD

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over :. Granted the wii does suffer from poor third party support which is too late to fix.
Monster Hunter Tri
Tales of Symphonia
Samurai Warrior 3
Trauma Center 1 & 2
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicle
Final Fantasy Fable Chocobo's Dungeon
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle Crystal Bearer
Boy and his Blob
Red Steel 2
No More Heroes
Muramasa
Zack and Wiki
World of Goo
Bit Trip Series
Boom Blox
Dead Space: Extraction
Madworld
While it's 3rd party support wasn't as good as PS360, It was by no means poor

There's a lot of shovelware on every system. That means nothing about third party supportTo me the third party support was over all poor considering there was a lot of shovel ware for the Wii. That dosen't mean there wasn't a good amount of Games that were great.

All of those games are games I like that are 3rd party. I can only come up with 15 PS360 that I would like that I don't own on PC.17 games in 5 years is certainly poor, in my opinion :3

You also forgot the Metal Slug Anthology, and the Just Dance series.
That's the thing...while the PS360 does have alot of third party support, a good portion of the games released for those systems are also released on PC.

you can argue resident evil 4 made from ground up for gamecube had the best graphics of last gen. why didnt they try something like that for Wii?

...And? Why does it matter to you if the same games are being released on other systems? That just means more people get to experience the games. You also forgot the Metal Slug Anthology, and the Just Dance series.

SCREW YOU FOR SAYING THE WII IS CRAP. YOU SHOULD GO AND KILL YOURSELF. why are people saying the wii is a disappointment to Nintendo. its WAY better then PS3 and Xbox 360... I can say that and plus I love the Wii the same as Nintendo other consoles.

Nintendo is more on releasing the consoles then games.
