I don't see the issue with the graphics, ok I do in some places, but it still looks great. Gameplay > Graphics, always. Thats why this game looks like 10x better than GTA V to me.

If the game was shown how it is from the beginning there would be no issue. It's just that Ubi has this really bad thing about BS footage and screenshots. The game looks fine but Ubi gave people false advertising.

Graphics look worse in some parts, but that's to be expected since the original footage at E3 2012 was on a super computer.

They've tried to polish up the gfx it appears, but still. NOWHERE NEAR the fake, light years better footage shown at E3.

This game has been delayed and again. It's had issues. And yes, the graphics are what actually made people care when it was announced. Lol @ trying to create a box to put people in who require nice visuals. Good job pretending the gfx card insist ray And next gen visuals don't drive the industry. If gfx didn't matter, no one would complain about the wii u having old gen games ported to it. Because the gamepad offers gameplay enhancements. Graphics matter. A lot. Going to have to deal with it.

Maybe you care for lesser quality. I expect more.

You can pay them money for a bait and switch. I'll spend mine where it's more deserved.

Dang, I'm with OP on this one. WHAT HAPPENED TO WATCH DOGS.

Ubisoft pretty much killed the momentum for this game last fall so I don't think it's going to sell as well as if it was released on time.

Now this graphics thing. Yeah, graphics are nice. Yeah they can enhance gaming experience. But them "driving the industry" is

wrong. i think it drives it, in a sense. but in a bad way.

yeah there is a large percent of gamers that increasingly care about graphics, and yes it's one of the big things a lot of devs are focusing on, but it's only a section of the industry. What drives the industry, or at least is supposed to, is FUN. All this focus on things other than fun is, in my opinion what is wrecking the industry right. Look at a publisher like EA where they push their devs to where fun is one of the last things they get to be conxerned about. Look how quicklythey turn good seriesto suck all.

Now loom at nintendo, where if a dev says can we do this? it'll take tie, it'll cost, buti'll be danged if it won't be hecka fun then as long as it's reasonable nintendo says sure. And look at how good the average nintendo games quality. even the ones that have a bad rep often have that rep because they seem bad compared to the impossibly high standard people have. A standard they somehow manage to exceed frequently. in short what im saying is when fun drives the industry we get great games that people play for decades. when graphics drive the industry we get whatever it is e have now.

 

which brings me to my second point. Why are you so gosh-darn anal about the fact this game doesn't make you blow a load graphically speaking? Why on earth would the graphics be more important to ANY GAMEr than GAMEplay? What the heck is with this stupid snob so many have where they think that gaming is about all these other things? People care more about storu and graphics than fun? Then DON'T GAME. Seriously. that is an honesy recommendation. if you want story first, go read a book. that's what books are about and have always been about. you want graphics first go watch disney movies or something. their physics and graphics are insanely beautiful. or an even crazier idea: GO OUTSIDE! You know a tree in the real world looks JUST like a tree in the real world? crazy stuff, right?

And can we stop pretending this game looks like a tech demo for the N64. everyone keeps saying Oh my gosh this totally looks like last gen. so deplorable plz go die devs.

If you think graphics are for people who need to go outside, perhaps you yourself need to join the rest of us who already spend more time outdoors than in. The real world looks great right? So wouldn't it be great if games looked like that? And realistic isn't the only area on terms of graphics that are nice. Even perfect anime style can be done now.

And yes graphics do drive the industry like it or not. If not, ps4 wouldn't be selling like it us, nvidia and ati (amd) wouldn't be around, no one would need to upgrade their smart devices, etc. it's why infinity blade is such a success on iPhone and why even agry birds was updated to retina display graphics. Heck, it's why retina displays exist. Visuals matter in every area of life. VIDEO games especially. If you don't like gfx then play checkers, chutes and ladders, chess.

And stop trying to get the people who want their shiny new hardware to actually have games that take advantage of them.

Watch dogs graphics hurt it. Undeniably. It was revealed as this next gen masterpiece. And now it looks nearly like a wii game. Beyond that, it seems original ambitions for the game exceeded the need for speed engine powering it. It's no longer this living breathing world where you can do anything. Now it's assassins creed with smartphones.

One again..,The game is cut back beyond graphics. But the graphics are jarring in their crappiness. After seeing the likes of DKTF, killzone, ryse, etc, a game claiming to be aaa just simply is not.

It's not going to magically become awesome. And the delay in the wii u version only gives more pause coming from a company that has already slapped Nintendo fans in the face.

Watch dogs.. No thanks. When they try harder on the wii u to give great gameplay,intriguing story, and top level graphics, I'll look again. For now, their company name is synonymous with "meh." As are their games. Here's hoping they get their act together. The sad part is, they could have been the "hero" third party of the wii u. Instead they shot themselves in the foot and wear the black hat. And the funny thing is, it's their own fault.

I feel the games killer app was the visuals and how superior they were compared to last gen. Fast forward to now and it looks like gta5 without the character of San Andreas living breathing world.

Still it looks fun but it's not in it's pedestal it once was and idk how it can be for anyone, I mean the gameplay is something I have to try to really say how good it is but the story doesn't really look all that good, characters don't look interesting(again I might be wrong but the trailers don't impress me) and the city looks grey like gta4 (which I liked but still it's been done).

It's the gameplay tho that interests me (which any game has to be priority #1) with the hacking and physics of the characters looks good. But the question is how will it differ from other open world games like Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row, and the King GTA series. Here's hoping that it rocks.

Actually the only comment we have on a change in gameplay is that they made hacking more essential, and improved other gameplay aspects as far as I know. I think everything else is speculation.

And people can't go through warp pipes, battle dragons, climb into mechs, etc. in their backyard.

Which is why is said if graphics don't matter, why waste the electricity on video games. Play checkers instead.

From the gameplay and graphics downgrades, this game belongs in last gen systems. Not the new hotness. It's not what they showed. And it won't be in many folks' systems as a result. There's a reason why a bug stink has been raised over a demo. And there's a coincidental reason why there won't be a demo-they don't want the demo to discourage potential buyers with the truth.

Graphics in VIDEO games matter. A lot. No one wants to look at Atari graphics these days.

Good graphics are impossible to ruin a game. Other elements can. I'm sure the upgraded visuals in wind waker didn't damage the game. Lol

and back to the original point... Watch dogs... Has seen a downgrade in graphics, in scale, in concept, and in gameplay.
