It looks really really good, I consider Mario Kart 64 the best but this could be my favourite Mario kart ever.

*Waits for Gamespot's inevitable 6/10 score because it's not an fps or on American console*

I didn't catch if you can play two players with one on the gamepad instead of split-screen, but it has to be possible, right?
Edit:I just read that you won't be able to. That's EXTREMELY disappointing. How did they decide this wouldn't be an important feature???

Probably couldn't keep it locked at 60fps sending one player to the game pad with others split screen.

1 player on screen plus 1 player on gamepad shouldn't take more resources than 4-player split-screen.

What I am saying is, 4 player split screen, plus 5th player on gamepad probably was taxing so they did away with that and just made split screen for 2-4 players to keep it cohesive. Yes, I am sure it could of been done for 2 players, one on gamepad and one on TV. I think in this scenario though, overall cohesiveness won out.

This game is simply too gorgeous, and I do really like the retro track choices!

A little disappointed that we can't have items in reserve, but I'll get over it.

4 player split screen should take waaaaaaaay more resources.

I think sorcerer is onto something with it being about keeping all displays synchronised.

Honestly, im willing to bet the gamepad player would actually be several frames ahead of the tv players on 9 out of 10 tv's... Something pretty big on a 60fps game like mk.

Maybe. Hopefully they had a really good reason not to implement it. I can't think of many better ways to use the gamepad.

LOVED this course, cannot wait to play it in it's fresh HD state. Love the sense of speed this game is bringing too. I kind of want to stop my cart, walk over to the cows and play cow tipping.

Yeah, just read too it is locked at 60fps for single player and two players but 3 and 4 players it is 30fps. Makes sense. Look at what the game is doing.

You online players, it's 60fps.

So glad to see Toad's highway course back. Always was one of my favorites.
