Now in favorite controllers there is many many controllers I really do like. So just because I have not mentioned it does not mean I do not like it. Just so many I like. Also a few I do not like.

 

First start with disliked controllers.

 

SEGA Master System controller. Now the system I love to death. I like SMS over NES.

Just the controller has no pause button (it's on the console) and it's half the size of the NES gamepad.

Upside is most SMS games are forward compatible with any Genesis controller.

 

Sony dualshock 1-3. I'm sorry but I never liked it. Always felt small and was not comfortable for me to hold ever. I also never liked the Dpad. Not tried DS4 yet to comment.

 

Sorry guys I know this thing really changed gaming with analog. Just that Sony made a better analog and this thing felt like crap. The stick grinded and was ruined after Mario party along with my palms.

Oh and the 3 prong thing never made sense.

 

Dishonorable Mention-The Duke OXB. Felt like using a hard stale loaf of bread with analog sticks.

Now onto my fave controllers.

 

 

Yup. WiiU Pro controller. This replaced 360 controller as my fave modern controller. Also dethroned MS as making my fave modern controllers as I loved S on OXB. Also as it's maybe a half inch wider it fits my hands better. I also love the D-pad and analog...dat analog is so smooth. Much improvment over Nintendo past efforts. So much so best I think I used. Button placement feels oddly more natural for me than 360 did.

 

 

Ok I merged two pics into one to get both of these on here. Anyway my fave classic controllers.

Start with Genesis. I know SNES gave us shoulder buttons and no doubt one of the best ever. genesis six button for me is beefier and more comfy for me and as a big SEGA fan Genesis games fell so natural with this thing than on VC or 360 or anything else.

 

Saturn controller. Well I know in the US we got 3 models. Another kidney bean shaped one with a different shape and Dpad. I like it an have it. 3D controller that came with NiGHTS. Have it love it. (also looks like the USS Reliant in Star Trek) Just many of the games I play feels better with this. 3D controller is best for other types of games but since Saturn has many 2D games this thing is used often.

The worst I've ever used was the N64, man that design is crazy. Another bad one was the original Xbox it was just too big.

The dual shock remote was never my fav but I just got too use to it that by ps3 I couldn't see a ps system without.

Now my favs would be the GameCube which looks awkward but ends up being such a breeze to use. Also the dual shock 4 although it's new and similar to the old ones it's improved beyond belief that it's hard to even go back.

Another favorite is the 360 remote which probably is my all time fav it just fit perfectly on my hand.

My worst has to be the Orginal Xbox controller, just never could get the hang of it. Just too unwieldy and bulky for my tastes.

Best has to be the Dual Shock 4, it replaced the 360 controller as my top. It just feels so good and light but not too light. It makes it a joy to play my games.

I really want to try the Wii U pro controller, I keep hearing nothing but good things about.

Worst controller i've used is a 3rd party pelican gamecube controller. The C stick is broken, the left stick is strangely raised too high, the buttons take strange force to push, the d-pad is the worst thing i've ever used, and it holding it just cramps up your fingers. Oh, and the cord is only about 2 feet long.

 

Best controller i've used is a tie between the dualshock 4, xbox one controller, and the Wii U gamepad. I use my dualshock 4 for both my PS4 and my PC, and it's a fantastic controller. I haven't used the xbox one controller much, mostly just at best buy, but it feels nice and controls nice. It's basically the also great xbox 360 controller, but much better. And the Wii U gamepad, although it doesn't have good triggers (they're just buttons, I guess) it feels great in your hands. The sticks alone are the best sticks i've ever used. A touchscreen in the middle just makes it better. Now if only it didn't run through it's battery so fast.

Most disliked controller would probably be the Gamecube Controller. I never liked it, it never liked me. Closely followed by any squarish controller setup, such as early consoles and the original gameboy.

 

Controllers I am really loving are the Dualshock 4 and the Wii U Pro Controller. Both feel ridiculously great.

Never liked any of Microsofts Consoles or Controllers. I hate the analog sticks. For me they feel to odd in positioning. I prefer analog sticks that are on the same line in a way.

Gamepad

Duelshock 1-4

I like all of these lots. Preferably the Gamepad and Pro Controller. All these controllers feel natural. I dont see a problem with the Duelshock 1, 2 and 3.

360 controller is overated but still better than Xbone. I thought the original Xbox controller/Duke was ok, quite liked it but the best Xbox controller ever is the Controller S.

 

Gamecube, Wii U Pro and DS4 are among my favourites. N64 pad at the time was a revelation.

I liked the N64 controller which I guess isn't a popular opinion here.

 

Gamepad and Wii Motion Plus (mostly just for Skyward Sword) are probably my favourites because they are pretty unique when compared to competitor's standard (boring) controllers.

 

I hate playing games on a PC keyboard if that counts as a controller. If it doesn't then probably the original xbox controller, that thing was so uncomfortable and ugly.

Would also give the Gamepad an honorable mention too, played Mario 3d World from start to finish using it and never felt uncomfortable.

My favorite is the Gamecube controller, followed by the Dualshock 4, and then the Gamepad.

Least favorites are the Xbox 1 controller and the Dualshock 3.

Least favorite is the NES controller. Even as a kid I knew that thing had poor (no) ergonomic design.

 

Best controller ever reward goes to Gamecube. I want to post an article on everything it did right. But then I realize it's a controller and these are the Wii U forums.

 

Second place goes to the 360 Controller, third place to Dualshock 3. Haven't got a chance to try the Xbone's or the Dualshock 4.
