So my wii u @ around 10:30 yesterday shut off (does that randomly).After that,I put in my headset and it didn't work.I also used other earbuds and headphones and it still didn't work. I don't know whats happening or why so can anyone help?

Umm the wii shuts off because part off the AC adapter is cut (it was the dog) but there is nothing inside the socket.BTW the headphones were these glowing gaming headphones (u can find em @ gamestop

#1 headphones should not be a priority right now but unplugging the WiiU and getting a new cord as that's a major fire risk and a risk to animals being electrocuted to death.

 

#2 Glowing Head Phones from gamestop. Think about that dude. Like think hard. Gamestop sells 3rd rate accessories, it's because they were meant to get you to buy because it glows but never meant to last at all.Try getting a pair licensed by Nintnedo. They come in boxes that look like other WiiU products from Nintendo. Turtle Beach or Tritton. Not PDP. PDP is trash.

1.I did not get the headset,it was a gift 2.Ill blame the fire on someone outside 3.ive tried ALL headphones @ my house and none of em work ON the wii u...anything else they still work

Ohh and i tried it with my friends turtle beaches still duznt work :c

I don't know how likely it is, but it may be possible that the damaged power cord was frying the gamepad's circuits. Does the connector itself seem unsually loose or anything?

Meh BTW u know any good games 4 the wii u im thinking of gettin one but really cant pick plus the gamestop where i live sell really good games but put em on really low prices i got a copy of halo 4,black flag and black ops for 80$

It may be a tiny cut, but if it causes the Wii U to shut off it is still significant.

Even a small cut can set the house ablaze from a single spark and a house can go up in flames in a matter of seconds either when awake or asleep or away from the house. if any moisture even a small little bit can cause an electrical fire which is far worse than a normal one.

 

If you don't buy a new cord then unplug it and put some black electrical tape on it. MUST be electrical tape. That is still a temp bandaid.

I agree with some posters here, i say you should seek out a replacement cord for your wii u. Just for safety reasons.

talk to nintendo about it, the mic jack is probably broken, either from mis-use or manufacture fault.

I tried replacing the mic jack.It worked for around half an hour then just stopped..I also put replaced the cord.Atleast ppl on these forums aren't complete vegetas and never help you out

Also I heard you mention you borrowed a headset. Does your friend by any chance have a wiiu. If so you could borrow his gamepad and test it on your wiiu that way you see if your gamepad is goofy. Game wise pick up Mario kart 8. Ninty has a special buy 1 get another free. And pick up a ac while your at it.was there a week ago and they are selling them as a ruined one could also fry your wiiu, plus the fire stuff there worried about.

BTW he gave em 2 me.I did try it on his and on my cousins gamepad and they work perfectly.I really don't know whats happening.I tried ALL the headsets (a ton) at my house but still.Also do you have another suggestion,already have Wind Waker And Mario Kart

I finally see the problem...someone cut the cable....i found some scissors close to the cable so...
