The main point of e3 is to inform retailers of publisher's plans.

 

True but that doesn`t mean something can`t be known before. The fact that there`s something new coming this year - whatever it is - shows that not all things go through E3`s retailer`s presentations.

 

It's easy to do. Esp when something is rumored for a long time like another 3DS revision since they are phasing out original 3DS.

 

I was speaking more in broader terms, not just this bit of news.
He`s not saying what it is and he probably doesn`t know for sure what it is.

 

If there really was a new console to be shown, wouldn't the leak be so much more widespread? That's been my experience over with the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U. Especially the 3DS and Wii U, the leaks for them were so widespread and consistent. There is no such thing for a console this year.

 

Naturally I would be highly skeptical of this, but it's just not believable to begin with.

 

Personally, i don`t think it`s a new console from the big 3, if we are talking about actual new hardware. Could be something from someone else or a revision.
Revisions appear out of the blue - like the 360 revision.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned a Smash Bros edition of the 3DS. Every #1 3DS game has had it's on edition of the console and Smash Bros will be no different. I know for a fact that I want to get it, especially if it's blue.

^ He pointed before that a MK 8 was coming before the bundle was even announced. If that was the case he would have spoken right away that it was a bundle.
