Before your hears start racing, let me say there isn`t any official confirmation or am i talking about a source close to a given company.
BUT, given the source, you can believe it will happen!

 

This user on vgchartz.com, who works on a big videogame retailer and has access to some info like shipments, etc., has given in the past correct info on HW and SW pre-orders for the retail chain, and other info aswell.
So far, he has been right.

 

Now, given his access, he is saying that new HW will be revealed at E3.

What it is, he doesn`t know much and, of course, can`t say much. But here`s a hint he has given:

 

It`s coming out in 2014 - as confirmed by him;

"will have new accessories related to it" - his words.

 

A bundle was given as a possibility, but he doesn`t think it is it.

Either it`s from one of the big three and if it is, my money is on Nintendo.
Could also be amazon`s console; could be something entirely new.

E3 can`t come soon enough!

It's either the gamecube adapter, or something from microsoft without kinnect or something from, sony, and trying to stay relevant in handheld gaming.

MS are already releasing something tomorrow. Would be weird to release something else for that this year. Unless it`s something related to VR gaming.

Why do people not get this? VGchartz has ZERO I said ZERO info on sales. They DO NOT WORK WITH ANYONE! They put their own system in place and make total guesswork.  They never even adjust when official numbers comes out they stick to their own BS numbers even tho they either over track or under track they are never right. Also if you think working in retail gives you some sort of insider info you are dead wrong. I was a Gamestop Manager staff years ago. The only thing you know is when something arrives in the store but it's never super inside anything. It's what everyone knows already other than what's in your backroom and what I mean is inventory but no super secret anything. MS/Sony/Nintendo Reps know less than you think they do. They are for Store PR and setting up kiosks and such.  Reps also often make random guesses at things.

 

Often people who work in retail like to pretend they have this info and hold it over people on forums. It's old as dirt

Wouldn`t the gamecube adapter and the gamecube controller qualify, both, as accessories. That`s not what would expect of the term hardware.

They way he expressed himself was that something important/big was coming and that it would use accessories.

Yeah, the screen he's reading at his gamestop says "hardware xxx" with a placeholder "july 2014" is pretty big.

lol riiiiiiight. I was a Gamestop Manager dude Nollog is right they are reading place holder screens. Guys like him like to hold it over suckers heads on forums and VGchartz is 90% rtards. I used to do it. He is doing it

The main point of e3 is to inform retailers of publisher's plans.

It's easy to do. Esp when something is rumored for a long time like another 3DS revision since they are phasing out original 3DS.

If there really was a new console to be shown, wouldn't the leak be so much more widespread? That's been my experience over with the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U. Especially the 3DS and Wii U, the leaks for them were so widespread and consistent. There is no such thing for a console this year.

 

Naturally I would be highly skeptical of this, but it's just not believable to begin with.
