Is it that complicated.
the eShop is light years behind the PS and Xbox online shops.
Nintendo should take advantage of the huge library of awesome games for NES, SNES, N64, GC.

Probably because the don't have enough dev power, they should make a new team just for VC game porting/
Stupid Snowmads!

Well one it's manpower. Another reason is code can be lost since then so getting it back means tracking roms or a cart itself. Another reason is license. Sometimes devs no longer have the rights to a series or game. Capcom has to agree with the Manga whenever Strider is released for example. Killer Instinct belongs to MS. Turok was made by Retro Studios when they were Iguana that was owned by a now long dead studio. So yeah another issue some studio's no longer exist.

The better question is why they haven't added Donkey Kong Country yet

Wasn't that removed from the Wii Shop Channel?

They used to have all of them on the Wii Shop but they removed them about a year and a half ago. I don't think they ever said why but it's probably a licensing issue. My other theory is they might be planning to rerelease the games in one big collection for the Wii U on disc sort of like they did with Kirby's Dream Collection a few years back.
As far as other games go...I think it's a lack of manpower. They are porting a few every week, but their choices seem very suspect. They keep porting a lot of bad games, I wish they'd focus on the good/most popular ones.

Licensing, manpower, time, demand...it's a lot of factors. Not quite as simple as drag-and-drop and poof, there's your game.

all of this and... if they drop an entire catalog of games many will get lost in the shuffle. They get more interest and attention releasing handfuls at a time.

That too. Granted, we should still be getting faster releases than we are now, but I would rather them focus their manpower on new games.
...or make N64 3D Classics on the 3DS. >3>

And here's me thinking they just put it on the Eshop 1 by 1 so people buy each game individually per week and earn more money in the long run.
Well, I've finally found my Starfox, and I love it.

Yeah I got the original before it was removed but I want to play the others. I've never even played the third one before. If they were planning a re-release then surely it would have been this year since it's DKC's 20th anniversary? I just wish we knew why they were removed, Nintendo own all the assets of DK so I don't see what the issue would be.
Also I agree that they keep porting crappy VC games. It's a waste of time porting things volleyball.

and that is just one of the reason they are behind this gen.

That doesnt make any sense.
to make money you need to spend money.
Nintendo has the money, if they want to keep up, they need to step it up.

How is money supposed to magically make licensing legal paperwork go away?
How is money supposed to magically make creating the game specific, wii u specific emulator included with each vc rom go faster? Its not exactly a job that can be sped up by job paralellism. Quite the opposite.
How is spending more money to speed things up going to affect Nintendo's incredibly high standard for emulation?
I dont think you have any clue how hard timing perfect emulation is. Heres some information to give you some perspective at what Nintendo is undertaking trying to make timing perfect emulators, and why they are including a unique and specifically game tailored emulator with every single vc game.
http://www.tested.co...res-a-3ghz-cpu/
How would spending money to blow things out faster stop games from getting lost in a flood of content? How would that effect third parties willingless to let Nintendo use their old games for the VC?
Why should Nintendo waste that money on the Virtual console, when it wouldnt make any difference at all without an unacceptable loss of quality, and then, make the platform look even more unattractive to 3rd parties just hoping to make money off of old games?
So while other systems can and DO port their games to their new console, even cross console download. It is fine if nintendo just sits back on their butt?
Ask anyone to rank the best online download store (xbox, ps and nintendo) and see where nintendo falls 99% of the time.
How can Xbox and PS grab more classic games than nitendo? you think $$$ has nothing to do with it?
Nintendo asking people to repay $1 and $1.5 for games people already owned was a slap in the face.

How is asking someone to pay for re-release of a game you owned 20 years ago to run on a new system wrong?
a: It takes time and money re code a game for a new system.
b: When they emulate them for VC they up graphics quality (Metroid Fusion GBA graphics to look nice on the Wii U)
c: When your VCR breaks do you go to Universal or Dream Works for a free DVD of the tape you bought in 1992?
