OK, so it may not have one. But I have a feeling Nintendo did not reveal all it's cards. Last time Nintendo revealed the Wiimote, then the next E3 revealed the speaker on the controller -- which I think adds a new level of gameplay never before possible. Now, they reveal @ E3 2011 their biggest secret (Wii uTablet) while givign Sony tons of time to copy them (which I believe they will). This seems like a very miscalculated move, or Nintendo has a bigger, even better secret that will change things once again.

I originally said on another form that I think if Project Cafe was real (and it was) that the screen would also have 3D capabilities. With the DS, Nintendo tested the waters for casual gamers. Thats why it was a third pillar until Nintendo saw the crazy amount of systems sold. Thats when they fully went down the path of gameplay and not graphics.

We'll last year they tested the market for 3D. And it was somewhat of a success. The 3DS sold over 4 million units, with most of those sales since the price drop and newer games being released. The Holiday season also helped sales, I am sure.

So I think Nintendo could add 3D to the screen. Because we know Nintendo has wanted to do this since the GCN, probably before, and they just couldn't have a screen with glasses free 3D in the living room. Now they can.

And imagine. Being able to play the game on the big screen, and then to get the 3D effect stream it to the controller. Or you playing a some RPG and you point the back of the uTab to the TV screen, and be able to see the environment in 3D. The possibilities could be endless.

What do you guys think?

I think there using the haptic technology on the screen, they just hasn't shown it yet because it wasn't ready. Im the pr rep for HearMii.com and have heard multiple sources thats nintendo showed of the haptic tech on the controler at gdc last year. they also showed of hologram tech but i think that may be for later, later. also if u look closely in the reveal video you see a girl scratching the dog on the screen as if she can feel it.

The Wii U's biggest secret is that it makes sandwiches, hence "Project Cafe".

Well, if it could really do that, that leaves anything Sony and Microsoft invent in the future to dead.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

This is a given. I posted a thread on this a while back. There was a developer that said Nintendo had one real big reveal left that wasn't controller, graphics or online.

i heard the same thing too about wii u's big secret :D i hope its true, im not going to get hopes up about that, but rather about online and stuff i know will be there, if there is a secret, it will be awesome :D
i really have no idea how they will manage to fit everything into the conference at E3. they need to do 3DS, wii u 1st party titles, wii u 3rd party titles, price, release date, online, app store, e books and ios, then they have to do the secret (if there is one). its going to be amazing

I did hear something about the WiiU having 3D but I heard that they wont focus mainly on it so like someone said: Maybe you could use your 3DS as a controller! Because with circle pad pro the 3DS will have the same amount of buttons as the WiiU would! I also think that possibly the thing up their sleeve would be that the WiiU tablet will have possibly street pass. I think that this will work by you just taking the tablet and walking around with it! Another possibility to me would be if your 3DS would be like an extra tablet: Someone will use the TV screen and the WiiU tablet and the other will just use the 3DS all by themselves. This would help with things like card games where you dont want someone looking at your hand. So I think that the WiiU has too many possibilities to find out what Nintendo could be planning.

Well the wii u was just a prototype. So much could change. Maybe the touchscreen will become multitouch like an iPad? Maybe the controller will be thinner and smaller? Maybe the app store was the secret? Maybe the online service is better thn Xbox live but costs nothing?

I can't possibly imagine what this big secret is if it doesn't have to do with graphics, online, or the controller. What does that leave us with? The console itself?

i remember that quote as well and could never find the link myself but i know its out there.

this also leads me to think that they meant the hardware would have something unique about it that it can do

i didnt want to speak on this but what the heck. the two first rumors about the hardware were. 1. nintendo was creating a cross platform type chat-online eco system for Wii U. 2. (which really excites me but probably not true) the console would be upgradable. meaning you could replace cpu-gpu when your console becomes obsolete. i know that second one is a "STRETCH" but its fun to speculate. but it is 2012 and nintendo needs to get off their high horse and give us something new a CES.

A 3D screen would be nice and all, but GOD NO DON'T PUT A 3D SCREEN IN THE WII U'S CONTROLLER. The 3DS' screen barely worked for me, and when it did, it was hardly impressive. Add that with a touchscreen and having to alternate between the controller and the TV's screen, it would just be a painful, uncomfortable, and underutilized nightmare. I do agree that Ninty may have something else in store at E3 (many things, actually), but if anything, it may be the confirmation that we can use more than one Tablet Controller.

They'll likely reveal one of two things.

A haptic touchscreen (and multi-touch preferably)

Video streaming from console to console as was rumored earlier.

But if it has nothing to do with graphics, the controller, or online, what could it possibly be?

I heard Sony experimented on the PS3 of making it's GPU upgradable (much like you could expand the N64's RAM with the expansion pak). It ultimately didn't make the final cut I guess because it cost too much or buying the newest GPU (which would have to be proprietary) would be too expensive.

I could see Nintendo doing this, because they are releasing first, and they do want to future proof their console and avoid a huge power-gap like the Wii-PS3 was.
