The intrepid Captain Toad sets off on his own adventure for the very first time through a wide variety of tricky, enemy-infested, maze-like stages to find hidden gems and nab elusive gold stars.

FEATURES:

  • Equipped with nothing more than a neck scarf, backpack and oversized head lamp, Captain Toad finds hidden gems, coins and power-ups on his way to the gold star at the end of each tricky, trap-filled stage.
  • Captain Toad isn't particularly fast or strong. He can't jump and he has no super powers. But he knows that sometimes, it's all about wits and perspective.
  • Twist the camera to reveal hidden locations and other secrets. The Wii U GamePad offers a closer view of the dangers and hidden items in each maze, and its gyro controls can also be used to peer around.
  • Captain Toad's world is brimming with life, with dangerous enemies, tricky platforms, nasty traps and secrets to uncover. Each stage is its own puzzle to solve, and littered throughout are hidden items in hard-to-reach places. Can you help our tiny adventurer survive to find them all?

Only this is even better, more fleshed out and not so confined :)

Those levels were fun and really left me wanting more. Seriously, there just weren't enough of them IMO, so I'm glad that the concept got it's own more fleshed out game now. A definite must buy for me and another great reason to have a Wii U. Not saying I would buy a Wii U for this game only, but it sure is yet another reason to have one.

But it's still a minigame only with more stuff and now you have to buy it...

I feel like this is the kind of game that would be perfect as a mobile app :P

I wish I could play it in December. Instead I have to wait till January (EU). Oh well, I'll probably get Mario Kart 8 to hold me over after I am done with Tropical Freeze.

Exactly....  Not sure if this is a day one buy, but it is something I will get eventually.  I feel the same way about sonic boom.  Priorities are Bayonetta, Smash, Hyrule Warriors.

Oh this one along with Sonic Boom, HW, Bayo, Smash are day one buys. Actually Smash least off them all, I'm very excited about all these games.

The free was just a few levels with toad and kind of like these. This is a full game that is more fleshed out. It's not really the same. And this would suck as a mobile game.

In the GameXplain analysis the book contains 25 levels, of which we've seen quite a lot already. I really doubt there aren't more, but if it actually is the final level count I will definitely be dissappointed. What are you guys expecting level count wise?

It contains 25 pages in the demo version this isn't representitive off the final product. That said I'm expecting 4 books and the a fifth after completing the comng down to 125 in total.

25 sounds like a little. With the levels been so small it couldn't have taken long to make this game. If it is 25 I see this been completed easily with in 2 days so here is hoping there is far more levels. If it's 25 then maybe more will be for download because they did say the game will be digital too.

Its more then just a mini game and it's quite a lot more depth wise. From what I played of it at GamesCom it was a lot of fun and definitely worth playing. From what I have heard it has at least 100 levels.

So, you're willing to pay $60 for it?

Nintendo isn't nuts, this more likely to be a 40€ game
