Mario Kart 8 Pack 1 - Released: November 2014

Pack 1 includes:

3 Characters: Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link
4 Vehicles
8 Courses

Mario Kart 8 Pack 2 - Released: May 2015

Pack 2 includes:

3 Characters: Villager, Isabelle, Dry Bowser
4 Vehicles
8 Courses

As a bonus for purchasing both packs - as a bundle or separately - you can get eight different-coloured Yoshis and eight different-coloured Shy Guys that can be used right away.

What's funny about this is. Sonic Racing made a great MK clone. Transformed made it better and used transitional music cues and more SEGA crossovers.

Mario Kart 8 has alot of what made Transformed great in it including those transitional music cues now they are using mutliple Nintendo characters. I bet next game won't be a Mario kart but a Nintendo Kart.

Kinda sucks that the three new Mario characters are just model reskins (they might be in different weight classes), I would have preferred some of the "missing" characters like Bowser Jr. or Diddy. But Link, Isabelle, Villager, the new karts, and the new/returning tracks are so amazing that I really don't mind about Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, and Dry Bowser. Hopefully we'll get even more DLC packs in the future.

 

 I'm also hoping that North America gets the multi-colored Yoshis and Shy Guys, not exactly sure how they could be pre-order bonuses since NoA doesn't have an online store (maybe that'll change when they officially announce this?) and the eShop doesn't have a pre-order system.

YES YES YES!!! This DLC is great. So hyped for Cat Suit Peach and Isabelle. And now maybe we will get more SNES tracks, I thought MK8 was really lacking that since it only had one.

Also I'm so curious to see what Isabelle's tricks will be.

This is all sorts of GREAT! the pricing is fair, the content is mind blowing, and the timing is perfect in november! however.....can't help but wonder in the back of my mind...is this releasing in november to strengthen mario kart 8, or to make up for a possible smash bros delay.

this IS something nintendo would do, and the timing of this coming forward, it would have been more appropriate to announce this in a september direct
