I skipped Spyro's Adventure and my entry into the series was Skylanders Giants for Wii U. Skylanders Giants was a sort of explorational game with combat, and the occasional puzzle. It felt like a watered down Zelda-meets-Earthbound. I did feel a little clueless when I started playing because the game seems to continue off the first one, but it's still fine. I haven't played Swap Force... I might just skip that game. But I'm debating on whether to try Trap Team. Depends on whether I have the money, because getting into the newest game can easily cost $75-$100.

Swap Force is fun Trap Team is slightly more fun and more interactive with the portal.

I recommend Trap Team if you can afford it.

The starter characters are great fighters so there's no problem beating the game but to 100% everything you need to buy more.

Trap Team looks like it's even more immersive than past entries. Graphics have always been good and the character designs always seem to be interesting. I like the fact the portal with the trap has a speaker and you'll hear sounds coming from the trap.
