[Reversal]

Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I last came on here. But now that Sonic Boom's been out and everyone's gotten a chance to play it. What do you guys think of the game?

I haven't gotten it yet but I'm planning on getting it for christmas. It seems like a fine game amongst all the great ones

BRB even knew it sucks letting you skip the entire game with a simple to perform glitch. Great for those with buyers remorse.

If anything... aside from bugs, glitches, frame drops the game is just bland both artistically and in game play. It does a great job at being almost mediocre.

I haven't played it yet but I think it's possible people are being too harsh on it because of the glitches, it looks incredibly mediocre but as long as the worst of these glitches aren't too easily encountered then I don't think it is as bad as everyone is saying.

I don't think calling it the new sonic 06 is fair as having seen gameplay of that and boom, boom looks like it plays better.

In the sonic boom tv spot topic I mentioned how the game felt like and looked artistically like epic mickey. The pacing of the game is similar.

Perhaps the only highlights with sonic boom is the worm boss and final boss battles. Also running on water was fun but the speed parts felt a shallow

The ideas looked really cool, hearing these bad things dissapoints me. I'll still pick it up when it gets cheap. Hopefully a patch maybe? Maybe a sequel.. oh who am I kidding.

What's the general consensus on the 3DS version? I played the demo and thought it was okay, but I've barely heard anything about it because of the Wii U version overshadowing it. And what I have heard has been either "bad" and "meh".

Only Epic Mickey actually was a GREAT game, devoid of most bugs. It knew what it wanted to be and was unique and managed to get Most of it's mechanics correct. The Sequel, on the other hand...

 

Sonic Boom looked to be a giant mess from the moment it was announced, seemingly having been designed to sell toys/a cartoon, both of which aren't moving/have been moved to the death slot for Cartoon's Ala YJ's fate.

I agree for the most part. I should have been more specific and say epic mickey 2.

I'm going to try the game by Christmas for Wii U and might like it. But you all know how weird I am.

I picked up the 3ds version, will give it a go and report back in a few days. Any talk of the handheld version has been overshadowed by the console one as you said. There is connectivity between both in the sense you can unlock some extra things but not sure if that is even going to add anything of great substance.
