In order to not drive myself crazy, I've decided to only collect the Smash Bros line of amiibos. I can't afford to stress over any other line, lol!

going to have a couple doubles but it's ok. GameStop came through nicely. Mega Man, Sonic, Ike and DDD all now shipped via online order to home.
Btw, Nintendo has an updated chart for amiibo compatibility.

I still say Nintendo screwed up by not letting us order direct. I would buy more, but I'm not chasing all over creation for these silly things and certainly not paying $20-$60 for these.
I too wish they had a system in place to directly take orders and ship on a national scale.
Comes out on March 20 in North America. Walmart exclusive.
Full PR with the price (12.96$)
REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mario has always been golden in the minds of his fans. On March 20, Nintendo will launch the Super Mario amiibo—Gold Edition, a shiny gold-colored Mario figure that arrives on the same day as the Mario Party 10 game for the Wii U console. The Super Mario amiibo—Gold Edition will be sold exclusively at 3,000 Walmart stores in the U.S. at launch at a retail price of $12.96.
Nintendo’s amiibo are interactive toys that come to life in compatible games in different ways. This new golden figure represents the third Mario amiibo. The other two Mario amiibo are:
• The original ‘fireball’ Mario from the Super Smash Bros. series.
• A new ‘wave’ Mario from the Super Mario series available on March 20, for a limited time bundled only with Mario Party 10.
The new gold-colored Mario amiibo is compatible with multiple games that support amiibo. For example, Mario Party 10 features a new amiibo Party mode that players can only access by tapping their compatible amiibo figures on the Wii U GamePad controller to customize them and bring them into the game as board pieces. Players can also save items to their amiibo, then use them strategically. Or players can train their amiibo to supercharge its stats and expand its abilities in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U or Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. The full list of compatible games and amiibo can be found at http://www.nintendo....o/compatibility.
Wave 4....
as of now the most difficult ones to find will be Ness and Charizard. (until we find out the other figures manufacturing info).
These two only got 1 month of manufacturing, just like past wave figures that are hard to find.
Huge update, certificates were just updated again today on Nintendo's website. Looks like a good number of wave 4 have 2 months of production now, which is good especially for the FE amiibo.

I love the Smash Bowser I have but I figure since I'm only missing 2 from the whole set I'll probably get him and Mario eventually.
Just arrived. Never mind that he's at the office with me. ~The fighting robot.. MEGA MAN!~

Man the gold and silver Mario's are a joke. You could just paint a regular one. Nintendo is as slimy as anyone when it comes to these things.

Smart yes, slimey.. not quit imo. it's a limited edition and retail was the same as others and it does unlock tokens which makes it unique rather then just the color, which may interest collectors or anyone really.
It's like colored consoles or controllers in a sense.
The real slimey thing is not being able to get the normal figures in regularity.
I've seen some cool custom figures too ie: a captain toad which I liked but would never bother getting one as I prefer getting only ones officially made by nintendo.

It's a lazy cash grab and controllers are not figures. Figures have detail and more meant to be shown off. Controllers meant to endure your sweaty grimey hands and a tool needed to play. Amiibo is on disc DLC but mainly shelf pieces. If it was a different mold than any other Mario and used paint that wasn't the same color and texture and spray paint then maybe be fine. This is a shameless lazy cash grab and Nintendo knows it. They were slimy with Wii supply, they controlled it to create more demand and was genius but dirty. I was selling them then. Nintendo did it on purpose. They do this alot and Nintendo has always done lazy cash grabs like full prices GBA NES ports. Mario 25th on Wii.

Nintendo is significantly less slimy that most gaming companies by numerous examples. They're just poorly managing the amiibo situation.
FINALLY arrived in the mail from Japan and I couldn't be happier...
