Super Mario edition are compatible with Mario Party 10 and you can use them to unlock a new game piece and game board related to the amiibo character. You can also use the Smash Bros. amiibo for duplicate characters. Aside from the above 7 amiibo, Rosalina and Donkey Kong are also supported.

The Toad amiibo can be used to unlock new challenges in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It will unlock a new game mode, such as "hide and seek", where you have to look for pixel images of Toad hidden throughout the stage

In the direct I do recall them saying smash version amiibo will work with Mario Party 10, total of 9 characters will. I am not sure about Super Mario edition working with smash.. they did iterate you have to delete smash save data if you wish to use in Mario Party 10.

And the Toad amiibo unlocks a pixel toad on the level and you have to search for it apparently. Something to that extent.
