Over 2.5 million amiibo sold in NA

Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U sold over 1.7 million physical and digital units and 1.3 million physical and digital units, respectively, in 2014.
Total sales of amiibo figures in 2014 are nearly twice the sales of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Jeez that's not bad. They've gotta be giving Nintendo a great profit, no wonder they're producing more.
I myself have three amiibo, Mario, Pikachu, and Captain Falcon, and with some people buying all of them it's no wonder they're doubling Smash Bros.' sales.
Another part of that article to note is that December 2014 was the Wii U's (hardware) highest selling month in history.

says this is Nintendo's best year in sales yet. that should place them close to 10mil if they arnt over that already.

That's a pretty impressive number. And it's just in the US.
I wonder what their profit is on each figure.
