Final Fantasy was NOT created to save Squaresoft. This is a misconception. Hironobu Sakaguchi decided to create one final game before leaving the games industry and going back to University. Thus the title Final Fantasy. The game was so successful he didn't quit and we know the rest.

Banjo-Kazooie was initially a SNES title named "Project Dream" but was changed so dramatically the game is unrecognizable to its early screenshot.  The only remnants of the game is Captain Blackeye in Banjo-Tooie that was supposed to be the primary antagonist for Project Dream.  Also, Banjo, Gruntilda, and Tiptup were minor characters in the game.

You speaking of Bionic Commando .. if so that was developed by good ole Capcom for the NES.

The Famicom version of the original Legend of Zelda actually had better sound quality than on the NES, due to the Famicom having an extra sound channel.
