This site is just the right size that I just click on "View New Content" to check up on everything (as I'm sure many others do).
Why does Wii U News not show up there? I was not aware that it doesn't show up in "New Content" and there's literally years of content I've never seen before.

It's probably as simple as a check mark box being unchecked or a simple change in how the section behaves, as it seems to not be a standard forum section. Wii U News topics do not show up in the module for Recent Topics either.
Content was originally fed into that section from the news/blog however those are pretty much defunct.

Pretty much what sorceror said. It's because it was coded a specific way and I can't really modify it to make the content appear in new content (same reason fourm game topics appear in the new content box when they shouldn't).
