I still think his name should be Yook (producing Yook 'n Laylee). Yooka seems to me to be a bit more of a female name, and I actually thought Yooka was a girl.

It's much better as it is. If you change it to 'Yook' you ruin the ukulele pun.

Lol so I look back at the kickstarter page for the first time considering pledging.....

 

No need at all. Already smashed every record in the book. I think maybe I'll just buy when it comes out. Good job 3D platformer fans, we need to revive this genre.

I'm actually a little sad that the Wii U version comes out at the same time as everything from. I was looking forward to having any major glitches worked out by launch.

Well there is now 2 new ones, one is a N64 shader mod, and a rap by GK, and the second is a developer playthrough. We should atleast hit the first one, the second one is heh, but this game is hyped so it would probably go past anyways, haha.

Yooka is the male and laylee is the female.

Ha! Yes, it's very important to know that the lizard has a pegasus generator...

Edit: So, that male bodypart is actually censored here, even when using a non-offensive word. That's... interesting.

My favourite ever complaint of that variety was someone who wrote in to a TV show on the BBC at one point complaining about nudity with the reason being "breasts are not suitable for children". Brilliant.

Apparently Price is a huge fan of Nintendo, and is determined to bring Yooka-Laylee to the Wii U, as they’re using multi-platform engine, Unity. He’s also a huge amiibo collector, and has already pitched the idea of Yooka-Laylee amiibos!

Good luck on the Amiibo. All Amiibos are Nintendo first- or second-party characters with the sole exception of Pacman, which is a legacy that predates the NES.

Well there is Mega Man and Sonic too though there were licensed for SSB. I'm not sure whether they would be able to get Amiibos but they have made plenty of money from the Kickstarter to put some money into it if need be.

 

I'm not a fan of Amiibos though. I'd rather, if I really like the game, a figure/statue of the characters even if it is a bit more costly than an Amiibo.

They may not be called Amiibos, depending if NIntendo wants to only keep that brand for their figurines however Nintendo is open to other companies using the built in NFC feature
